Align Your Background to EDA Sales Cycles
Synopsys Business Development roles focus on semiconductor IP licensing and EDA tool adoption. Tailor your resume to show experience with technical sales cycles, partner ecosystems, or solutions involving complex engineering software, not general B2B sales.
Verify Sponsorship Willingness Before Applying
Search Synopsys filings on the DOL's OFLC disclosure data to confirm active Labor Condition Application activity for Business Development job titles. This tells you whether sponsorship for this specific function is routine or rare before you invest time in the process.
Use Migrate Mate to Surface Current Openings
Filter for Synopsys Business Development roles by visa type on Migrate Mate. The platform surfaces roles from employers with verified sponsorship activity, saving you from applying to listings that exclude international candidates.
Prepare for PERM-Stage Documentation Early
If Synopsys moves you toward an EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card, the PERM labor certification requires documentation that your qualifications match the approved job description precisely. Gaps between your actual experience and the posted requirements can stall or invalidate the filing.
Negotiate Offer Terms Around Visa Filing Costs
Synopsys bears mandatory USCIS filing fees as the petitioning employer, but premium processing and legal counsel fees are sometimes negotiated at the offer stage. Clarify in writing which costs the company covers before signing.

Find Business Development at Synopsys JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Synopsys sponsor H-1B visas for Business Development roles?
Yes, Synopsys sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development positions. The company operates in electronic design automation and semiconductor IP, fields where international talent is a normal part of hiring. Business Development roles that require a relevant bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or business typically qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS criteria, which is the threshold for H-1B eligibility.
How do I apply for Business Development jobs at Synopsys?
Applications go through Synopsys's careers portal at synopsys.com/company/synopsys-careers.html. Search by function or team using terms like 'business development,' 'alliances,' or 'partner sales.' Read each job description carefully for language indicating visa sponsorship availability, as not every posting is open to sponsored candidates. Migrate Mate also aggregates Synopsys Business Development openings filtered by sponsorship eligibility, which simplifies the search.
Which visa types does Synopsys commonly use for Business Development hires?
Synopsys sponsors H-1B visas for the majority of Business Development hires requiring work authorization. The company also accepts candidates on F-1 OPT and CPT, and files TN petitions for eligible Canadian and Mexican nationals. For longer-term employees, Synopsys supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process once candidates meet tenure and job requirements.
What qualifications does Synopsys expect for Business Development roles?
Most Business Development openings at Synopsys expect a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or business, plus demonstrated experience in technical sales, strategic alliances, or partner management within the semiconductor or EDA software industry. Familiarity with IP licensing models, chip design workflows, or cloud-based EDA platforms strengthens your profile. Senior roles typically expect five or more years of relevant industry experience and a track record of closing complex technical deals.
How do I think about the H-1B timeline if I receive an offer from Synopsys?
If you need H-1B sponsorship, USCIS opens cap registration in March each year for an October 1 start date. An offer in hand by February gives Synopsys time to register you before the deadline. If you're selected in the lottery, Synopsys then files your full petition. The gap between March and October is a critical period, so confirm your current work authorization status and any grace period windows when negotiating your start date.
