Align your credentials to Tanium's stack
Tanium's Operations roles often require familiarity with endpoint management, IT infrastructure, or enterprise SaaS workflows. Frame your resume around systems you've administered or optimized, not just general operations experience, so your background maps cleanly to their technical environment.
Prioritize roles with PERM-eligible pathways
If you're targeting long-term status, look for Operations positions tied to permanent headcount rather than project-based contracts. PERM labor certification requires the employer to document a specific, ongoing role, so stable, process-critical positions at Tanium are stronger candidates for that pathway.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Tanium Operations openings by visa type
Tanium posts Operations roles across several job boards, but not every listing signals sponsorship willingness. Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for Tanium positions that align with your visa category, saving you from applying to roles that won't move forward.
Time your application around OPT cap-gap risk
If you're on F-1 OPT targeting a Tanium role, account for cap-gap coverage when negotiating your start date. USCIS allows you to continue working during cap-gap if your H-1B petition was filed before your OPT expired, but your offer letter timing needs to reflect that window.
Ask recruiting explicitly about LCA filing timelines
For H-1B transfers or new filings, Tanium's recruiting team needs to initiate the Labor Condition Application with DOL before the I-129 can be filed. Ask early in the offer stage what their typical lead time is so you're not caught short if you have a grace period deadline.
Position TN status as a low-friction option if eligible
Canadian and Mexican nationals targeting Operations roles at a technology company can use TN status, which requires no lottery and no government petition approval wait. Tanium's Operations function includes roles in business analysis and systems management that commonly qualify under TN's Management Consultant or Computer Systems Analyst categories.

Find Operations at Tanium JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Tanium sponsor H-1B visas for Operations roles?
Tanium has sponsored H-1B visas for Operations positions, though sponsorship decisions are made on a role-by-role basis. Operations candidates with specialized technical skills, particularly around IT systems, enterprise platforms, or supply chain infrastructure, are better positioned to receive sponsorship offers. Confirming sponsorship willingness early in the recruiting process is the most reliable approach.
How do I apply for Operations jobs at Tanium?
Applications go through Tanium's careers portal, where Operations roles are listed under categories including IT, business operations, and enterprise systems. To find positions that align with your visa situation without manually reviewing every listing, you can browse Tanium's Operations openings filtered by visa type on Migrate Mate, then apply directly through Tanium's portal from there.
Which visa types does Tanium commonly use for Operations hires?
Tanium sponsors across several visa categories for Operations roles, including H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, J-1, and employment-based Green Card pathways such as EB-2 and EB-3. The right category depends on your nationality, degree level, and career stage. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals without a lottery, while EB-2 and EB-3 support longer-term permanent residency goals.
What qualifications does Tanium look for in Operations candidates?
Tanium's Operations roles typically require a bachelor's degree in a related field such as information systems, business administration, or engineering, along with demonstrable experience in process improvement, systems administration, or enterprise software environments. Roles closer to IT operations often expect hands-on familiarity with endpoint security or infrastructure tooling, which aligns with Tanium's core product focus and internal operational needs.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Tanium Operations offer?
Timeline depends heavily on visa type. F-1 OPT authorization is already in place when you start, so no additional filing is needed immediately. H-1B transfers from another employer can take two to four months with standard USCIS processing. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship, if offered, typically runs one to three years depending on your country of birth and priority date. Aligning your offer acceptance with these timelines prevents gaps in work authorization.
