Translate Your HR Credentials for USCIS
H-1B eligibility for HR roles requires proving specialty occupation status. Document that your degree is in human resources management, organizational psychology, or a related field, not just general business, to preempt USCIS scrutiny on whether HR qualifies as a specialty occupation.
Target The RealReal's People Operations Team
The RealReal staffs HR professionals across authentication operations, retail, and corporate functions. Focus your applications on roles tied to high-volume hiring or workforce compliance, where the business need for specialized HR expertise is easier for an employer to justify in an H-1B petition.
Understand OPT Timing Before Applying
If you're on F-1 OPT, apply to The RealReal with enough runway to complete onboarding and begin STEM OPT extension paperwork if your role qualifies. HR analyst and HR systems roles in e-commerce can fall under STEM-designated programs, which extends your work authorization to 36 months.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Sponsored HR Openings
Searching general job boards won't tell you which HR roles at The RealReal come with sponsorship. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for visa-sponsored Human Resources positions at The RealReal so you're not wasting applications on roles the company won't sponsor.
Negotiate Sponsorship Before Signing the Offer
Once you receive an offer, confirm in writing that The RealReal will file your H-1B or PERM petition and cover associated filing fees before you resign from any current role. Verbal assurances during interviews aren't binding, and HR offers can move quickly in e-commerce hiring cycles.
Prepare for DOL Prevailing Wage Review on PERM
If you're pursuing a Green Card through PERM, the DOL will assess whether your HR role's offered wage meets the prevailing wage for your geographic location. HR business partner and HR director titles in major metro markets where The RealReal operates often land in higher wage tiers.

Find Human Resources at The RealReal JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does The RealReal sponsor H-1B visas for Human Resources roles?
Yes, The RealReal sponsors H-1B visas for Human Resources positions. HR roles that involve specialized expertise, such as HR analytics, workforce planning, or compensation strategy, tend to have the strongest sponsorship case because they more clearly meet the USCIS specialty occupation standard. Generalist HR coordinator roles can face more scrutiny, so aligning your application to a specialized function strengthens your petition.
Which visa types does The RealReal use for Human Resources positions?
The RealReal sponsors H-1B visas for experienced HR professionals and supports F-1 OPT and CPT for students and recent graduates entering HR roles. For longer-term permanent residence, EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways are available through PERM labor certification. TN status is also an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying HR roles under USMCA professional categories.
What qualifications does The RealReal expect for sponsored Human Resources roles?
Most sponsored HR roles at The RealReal require a bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field, and at least a few years of HR experience in a fast-paced environment. Given The RealReal's scale in luxury e-commerce, experience with high-volume recruiting, HR information systems, or workforce compliance in retail or operations settings is particularly relevant.
How do I apply for Human Resources jobs at The RealReal?
Browse open Human Resources positions at The RealReal through Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for roles where visa sponsorship is available so you're not applying blind. When submitting your application, tailor your resume to reflect HR competencies relevant to e-commerce operations, including experience with applicant tracking systems, onboarding at scale, or people analytics, which align closely with how The RealReal structures its HR team.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for Human Resources roles at The RealReal?
For H-1B sponsorship, the annual cap lottery runs in March with an October 1 start date, meaning you could wait up to seven months from selection to work authorization. F-1 OPT authorization through USCIS can take up to 90 days, so apply early. PERM Green Card processing at the DOL currently averages over a year before USCIS adjudicates the immigrant petition, so plan accordingly if permanent residence is your goal.
