Frame Your Resume Around Revenue Metrics
The RealReal hires Sales candidates who can show measurable impact. Quantify your pipeline management, conversion rates, and client retention numbers before applying. Luxury resale or e-commerce marketplace experience will strengthen your case significantly.
Target Roles Tied to Core Business Functions
Sales positions connected to consignor acquisition and luxury goods authentication tend to see the most consistent hiring activity at The RealReal. Prioritize applying to roles where your background maps directly to the company's core marketplace operations.
Disclose Your Visa Status Early in Outreach
Bringing up sponsorship needs after a verbal offer wastes everyone's time. When you reach the recruiter phone screen, confirm the role is open to candidates requiring H-1B or OPT sponsorship before investing further in the process.
Understand TN Visa Eligibility for Sales Roles
If you're Canadian or Mexican, TN status is worth exploring for qualifying Sales positions. USCIS recognizes specific occupational categories, so verify your role maps to an eligible classification before assuming TN is available to you.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Verified Sponsoring Employers
Searching broadly across job boards wastes time on employers who won't sponsor. Use Migrate Mate to find and track open Sales roles at The RealReal specifically filtered by visa sponsorship, so every application goes to a confirmed sponsor.
Account for LCA Filing in Your Start Date Timeline
Before The RealReal can file your H-1B petition, DOL must certify a Labor Condition Application. Factor in at least two to three weeks for LCA processing when negotiating your proposed start date with a recruiter or hiring manager.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does The RealReal sponsor H-1B visas for Sales roles?
Yes, The RealReal has a history of sponsoring H-1B visas for Sales positions. Sponsorship is not automatic for every open role, so confirming eligibility early in the recruiting process is important. Roles tied directly to core marketplace functions, like consignor acquisition or luxury goods sales, tend to be stronger candidates for sponsorship approval.
How do I apply for Sales jobs at The RealReal?
You can apply directly through The RealReal's careers page or use Migrate Mate to browse their open Sales roles filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility. Tailor your application to highlight e-commerce or luxury retail sales experience. The hiring process typically includes a recruiter screen, a panel interview, and a practical sales assessment before an offer is extended.
Which visa types does The RealReal support for Sales candidates?
The RealReal has sponsored H-1B visas and supported Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for Sales hires. The company also works with candidates on F-1 OPT and CPT, making it accessible to recent graduates. Canadian and Mexican nationals in eligible occupational categories may also qualify for TN visa status depending on the specific role.
What qualifications does The RealReal look for in Sales candidates requiring sponsorship?
The RealReal looks for demonstrated sales performance, ideally within e-commerce, luxury retail, or marketplace environments. A relevant bachelor's degree supports H-1B eligibility under the specialty occupation standard. Beyond credentials, recruiters prioritize candidates with measurable client acquisition or account management results, and familiarity with consignment or resale business models is a meaningful differentiator.
How do I plan my timeline when pursuing a sponsored Sales role at The RealReal?
If you're on F-1 OPT, apply well before your authorization expires, since cap-subject H-1B petitions must be filed by April 1 for an October 1 start date. For candidates already holding H-1B status, transfers can happen year-round. Always account for DOL Labor Condition Application processing time before your expected start date, and confirm sponsorship availability at the recruiter stage.
