Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Service Tech Jobs at ThedaCare Jobs
Align Your Credentials to Healthcare Settings
ThedaCare operates acute care and outpatient facilities, so certifications relevant to biomedical equipment, HVAC systems, or healthcare-grade electrical systems carry more weight than general maintenance credentials. Document any hospital or clinical environment experience specifically in your resume.
Target ThedaCare's Facilities Management Pipeline
Large health systems fill Service Tech roles across multiple sites on a rolling basis, not just during open requisitions. Monitor ThedaCare's careers portal for facility-specific postings in the Fox Valley and Green Bay regions, where their campuses are concentrated.
Understand How TN Visa Works for Technicians
TN status covers specific occupational categories, and not all Service Tech roles qualify. Confirm with ThedaCare's HR team early whether your specific duties map to a TN-eligible occupation before relying on that pathway as your primary option.
Ask HR About H-1B Filing Timelines Upfront
H-1B cap-subject petitions must be filed with USCIS in April for an October 1 start. If you receive a ThedaCare offer in late winter, clarify immediately whether they'll submit your registration in the March lottery window, since missing it means waiting a full year.
Browse Open Roles Before Applying Directly
Use Migrate Mate to filter Service Tech openings at ThedaCare by visa type so you apply only to roles where your sponsorship category is confirmed, saving time and avoiding offers that stall at the immigration review stage.

Find Service Tech at ThedaCare JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does ThedaCare sponsor H-1B visas for Service Techs?
Yes, ThedaCare sponsors H-1B visas for Service Tech roles. The process requires your offered position to qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, which means the role must typically require at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field. Confirm with ThedaCare's HR team that your specific role and job description meet that threshold before accepting an offer contingent on H-1B approval.
How do I apply for Service Tech jobs at ThedaCare?
You can apply directly through ThedaCare's careers portal at thedacare.org or browse verified sponsorship-confirmed openings on Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa type so you only see positions where your category is supported. When applying, tailor your resume to highlight experience in healthcare facility environments, biomedical systems, or clinical maintenance, since those details directly match ThedaCare's Service Tech requirements.
Which visa types does ThedaCare commonly use for Service Tech roles?
ThedaCare sponsors across several categories including H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and employment-based Green Cards through EB-2 and EB-3 pathways. For recent graduates in technical fields, OPT and CPT are common entry points. Canadian and Mexican nationals with qualifying occupations may use TN status. Longer-term candidates often transition to EB-3, which suits skilled trade and technical roles well.
What qualifications or experience does ThedaCare expect from Service Tech candidates?
ThedaCare typically looks for hands-on experience with facility systems common in healthcare environments, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, biomedical equipment, or general mechanical maintenance. Certifications such as EPA 608 for refrigerants or relevant state-level trade licenses strengthen your application. Experience working in Joint Commission-regulated facilities or other healthcare settings signals familiarity with the safety and compliance standards ThedaCare operates under.
How do I plan my timeline around ThedaCare's visa sponsorship process?
The timeline depends heavily on your visa category. F-1 OPT authorization can be in place within weeks if your EAD is already approved. H-1B sponsorship is tied to USCIS's annual April lottery with an October 1 start, so offers made outside that window require premium processing or a gap year. EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card cases involving PERM labor certification with DOL typically take one to three years from filing to approval.
