Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Service Tech Jobs at Mayo Clinic Jobs
Align your credentials to biomedical standards
Mayo Clinic's Service Tech roles in a healthcare environment often require certifications like CBET or HTM credentials alongside your degree. Confirming your credentials are documented and transferable before applying strengthens your case for specialty occupation classification under an H-1B.
Target postings that list equipment specializations
Mayo Clinic's Service Tech openings frequently specify systems like imaging equipment, HVAC controls, or sterile processing. Applying to postings that match your hands-on specialization improves your fit for roles where visa sponsorship is a realistic outcome.
Understand the LCA wage requirement before negotiating
DOL requires your offered salary to meet the prevailing wage for your role and location. For Mayo Clinic's Rochester, Phoenix, or Jacksonville campuses, prevailing wage levels differ. Verify the applicable level through the DOL Foreign Labor Certification Data Center before any salary discussion.
Clarify sponsorship eligibility during the offer stage
Mayo Clinic processes sponsorship through internal immigration teams, so ask your recruiter directly whether the specific Service Tech posting is approved for visa filing. Getting this confirmed before the offer letter prevents delays after you've already accepted.
Use Migrate Mate to identify active Service Tech openings
Service Tech roles at Mayo Clinic cycle through multiple campuses and departments. Search Migrate Mate to filter current openings by visa type so you're only pursuing roles where sponsorship is already confirmed, not guessing from a generic job board posting.
Prepare for E-Verify enrollment as part of onboarding
Mayo Clinic participates in E-Verify, so your work authorization documents must be current and consistent with your visa status on your first day. If you're transitioning from OPT or CPT, confirm your EAD or authorization period covers your start date without a gap.

Find Service Tech at Mayo Clinic JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Mayo Clinic sponsor H-1B visas for Service Techs?
Yes, Mayo Clinic sponsors H-1B visas for Service Tech roles that qualify as specialty occupations, typically those requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant technical field. Biomedical equipment technician and facilities systems roles with a clear degree requirement are the most common fit. Confirm with your recruiter whether the specific posting is approved for H-1B sponsorship before applying.
How do I apply for Service Tech jobs at Mayo Clinic?
Applications go through Mayo Clinic's careers portal at mayoclinic.org/jobs. Filter by department or location to find Service Tech postings across Rochester, Phoenix, Jacksonville, and other campuses. Migrate Mate also aggregates active openings and filters by visa sponsorship type, which helps you prioritize roles where international candidates are actively considered.
Which visa types does Mayo Clinic commonly use for Service Tech roles?
Mayo Clinic sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, and employment-based Green Card categories including EB-2 and EB-3. For Service Tech roles, H-1B and TN are most common for candidates with qualifying degrees. Australian citizens may be eligible for the E-3. Green Card sponsorship typically comes after a period of employment through the PERM labor certification process with DOL.
What qualifications does Mayo Clinic expect for Service Tech positions?
Requirements vary by subspecialty, but most Service Tech roles at Mayo Clinic expect an associate's or bachelor's degree in biomedical technology, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a closely related field. Industry certifications such as CBET, CRES, or HVAC licensure strengthen your application significantly. Hands-on experience with specific equipment systems relevant to healthcare environments is often weighted heavily during screening.
How do I navigate the timing between an offer and visa filing at Mayo Clinic?
Once you receive an offer, Mayo Clinic's internal immigration team typically initiates the sponsorship process, which includes the Labor Condition Application filed with DOL before USCIS can process the H-1B petition. Standard processing takes several months. If you're on OPT, confirm your authorization period covers the full gap. Premium processing through USCIS is available for H-1B petitions if faster adjudication is needed.
