Align your portfolio to construction tech
Turner builds and maintains internal platforms for project scheduling, cost tracking, and field reporting. Showcasing experience with enterprise software, data pipelines, or mobile tools used in industrial or real estate contexts strengthens your application before you submit it.
Target roles tied to core operations
Software Engineer openings at Turner often support procurement, estimating, and project delivery systems. Applying to roles with direct operational impact, rather than general IT support positions, puts you in front of hiring managers who have clearer budget authority for sponsorship.
Confirm E-Verify enrollment before accepting an offer
Turner is a federal contractor and participates in E-Verify, which means your work authorization must be verifiable from day one. If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your EAD start date aligns with your onboarding date to avoid authorization gaps.
Clarify visa category early in negotiations
Turner sponsors multiple visa types for this function. If you're Australian, the E-3 is faster to process than an H-1B transfer and doesn't require lottery selection. Raise this during the offer stage so HR routes your case to the right filing track from the start.
Use Migrate Mate to identify open Software Engineer roles
Turner posts Software Engineer positions across multiple teams and project groups. Use Migrate Mate to filter open roles at Turner by visa type so you're only applying to positions where sponsorship aligns with your specific immigration status.
Prepare for PERM labor market documentation if pursuing a Green Card
If Turner offers to sponsor permanent residency through the EB-2 or EB-3 pathway, DOL's PERM process requires the employer to document that no qualified U.S. workers were available. This can add 12 to 24 months before your I-140 petition is filed, so plan your status extensions accordingly.

Find Software Engineer at Turner Construction Company JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Turner Construction Company sponsor H-1B visas for Software Engineers?
Yes, Turner Construction Company sponsors H-1B visas for Software Engineer roles. Because Turner operates as a large enterprise with dedicated HR and legal resources, they're experienced with the H-1B petition process. If you're already on H-1B status with another employer, Turner can file an H-1B transfer, which lets you start working as soon as the petition is received by USCIS.
How do I apply for Software Engineer jobs at Turner Construction Company?
Apply directly through Turner's careers portal or use Migrate Mate to browse open Software Engineer positions filtered by visa sponsorship type. When applying, tailor your resume to reflect experience with enterprise or construction-specific software systems. Turner's Software Engineer roles often sit within specific business units, so targeting teams aligned with your technical background improves your chances of moving through the process.
Which visa types does Turner Construction Company commonly use for Software Engineer roles?
Turner sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, and Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for Software Engineers. The right visa depends on your nationality and current status. Australian citizens are well-positioned for the E-3, which has no annual lottery. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for the TN visa. For long-term candidates, Turner also supports PERM-based Green Card sponsorship.
What qualifications does Turner Construction Company expect for sponsored Software Engineer roles?
Turner typically looks for a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field, which also satisfies the specialty occupation requirement for H-1B and E-3 petitions. Practical experience with full-stack development, cloud infrastructure, or enterprise application integration is valued. Familiarity with construction or real estate platforms such as Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar tools is a differentiator.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Software Engineer offer at Turner?
Timeline depends on visa type. An E-3 can be processed at a U.S. consulate in Australia in two to four weeks. H-1B transfers for candidates already in the U.S. take 60 to 90 days with standard processing, or two to three weeks with USCIS premium processing. Green Card sponsorship through PERM typically takes two to four years from initiation, so starting that conversation early with Turner's HR team matters.
