Align Your Degree to Specialty Occupation Standards
Turner's H-1B filings for Construction Engineers require a degree directly tied to the role. A civil, structural, or construction engineering degree strengthens your petition. A business or general science degree, even with field experience, can draw USCIS scrutiny on specialty occupation grounds.
Target Turner's Project-Based Hiring Windows
Turner staffs Construction Engineers at the project level, so openings cluster around preconstruction awards and groundbreakings. Monitoring Turner's publicly announced project wins in your target region gives you a reliable signal for when local offices are actively hiring.
Confirm LCA Scope Before Accepting an Offer
Turner operates across dozens of project sites simultaneously. Make sure the Labor Condition Application your offer is tied to covers the specific worksite location. DOL requires a certified LCA for each physical work location, and project reassignments can trigger amended filings.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Turner Openings by Visa Type
Turner posts Construction Engineer roles across multiple visa categories at once. Use Migrate Mate to filter active Turner listings by the visa type you need, so you're applying to roles the company has already confirmed it will sponsor for your specific situation.
Prepare Site Safety and BIM Credentials Before Applying
Turner consistently prioritizes OSHA 30 certification and Building Information Modeling proficiency for Construction Engineer candidates. Having both documented before you apply removes a common pre-offer qualification gap and signals you can contribute immediately on active job sites.
Understand How Turner Handles Cap-Exempt Filing Periods
If your H-1B selection window has closed for the current fiscal year, ask Turner's HR whether they can place you at a cap-exempt affiliated institution or extend OPT while the next lottery opens. Turner's size gives it flexibility that smaller contractors don't have.

Find Construction Engineer at Turner Construction Company JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Turner Construction Company sponsor H-1B visas for Construction Engineers?
Yes, Turner Construction Company sponsors H-1B visas for Construction Engineers. Turner files petitions across a range of engineering roles, and Construction Engineer is among the positions it has a consistent record of sponsoring. Because H-1B approval depends on the role meeting USCIS specialty occupation standards, your application should clearly document the degree requirement tied to the specific job duties.
How do I apply for Construction Engineer jobs at Turner Construction Company?
You can apply directly through Turner's careers portal, where Construction Engineer openings are listed by region and project type. For roles that require visa sponsorship, Migrate Mate filters Turner's active listings by visa category, so you can identify positions that match your authorization type before applying. Tailoring your resume to emphasize project delivery experience and technical tools Turner uses, such as Procore and BIM platforms, improves your chances at the resume screening stage.
Which visa types does Turner Construction Company commonly use for Construction Engineer roles?
Turner sponsors Construction Engineers on H-1B, E-3, TN, and F-1 OPT and CPT, and supports Green Card pathways through EB-2 and EB-3 for longer-tenured employees. E-3 is available only to Australian citizens and offers a streamlined consular process. TN applies to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering roles. The right category depends on your nationality, degree level, and career timeline.
What qualifications does Turner Construction Company expect for sponsored Construction Engineer roles?
Turner typically looks for a bachelor's degree in civil, structural, or construction engineering from an accredited program. Practical site experience, familiarity with project scheduling software, and OSHA 30 certification are consistently valued. For sponsored roles, the degree field must align with the job duties to satisfy USCIS specialty occupation requirements, so a directly related engineering degree carries more weight than a general or adjacent field.
How do I plan my timeline when pursuing a sponsored Construction Engineer role at Turner?
H-1B sponsorship requires Turner to file by April 1 for an October 1 start, so targeting offers in the December through February window gives you the best shot at cap inclusion. If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your OPT expiration date and whether STEM OPT applies, since that extension gives you and Turner more runway. E-3 and TN processing moves faster and isn't subject to an annual cap, so those paths have more flexible start timelines.
