Align your credentials with U.S. degree standards
Turner typically expects a four-year bachelor's degree in civil or construction engineering for Project Engineer roles. If you hold a three-year degree, gather a credential evaluation from NACES-member agency before applying to establish U.S. equivalency.
Target Turner's project-based hiring cycles
Turner staffs Project Engineers at the project level, so openings spike when large contracts are awarded. Track public project announcements and Turner's regional office activity to time your application when headcount demand is highest.
Surface your field experience in technical interviews
Turner's Project Engineer interviews focus on RFI management, subcontractor coordination, and schedule tracking. Lead with specific project examples matching those responsibilities, since sponsorship decisions are tied to clearly demonstrated role fit, not just credentials.
Clarify visa type and timing before offer stage
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm with your recruiter whether Turner's H-1B petition timeline aligns with your OPT expiration. The H-1B cap-subject lottery runs once per year, so a late offer can create a gap that requires bridging with a STEM OPT extension.
Search Turner openings on Migrate Mate by visa type
Filter Construction Project Engineer roles at Turner by the visa category you need on Migrate Mate. This lets you confirm active openings that match your sponsorship situation before investing time in the application process.
Understand how Turner's LCA filing affects your start date
Before you can start on an H-1B or E-3, Turner must file a Labor Condition Application with DOL certifying prevailing wage compliance for your work location. LCA certification typically takes seven business days, so factor that into your expected onboarding timeline.

Find Construction Project Engineer at Turner Construction Company JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Turner Construction Company sponsor H-1B visas for Construction Project Engineers?
Yes, Turner Construction Company sponsors H-1B visas for Construction Project Engineer roles. The company operates across a large portfolio of active projects nationwide, and this role is a recurring hire. Because H-1B sponsorship is cap-subject and tied to the annual lottery, timing your offer to align with the April filing window is critical for a smooth transition.
How do I apply for Construction Project Engineer jobs at Turner Construction Company?
Apply directly through Turner's careers page or browse open Construction Project Engineer roles filtered by visa type on Migrate Mate. Tailor your resume to highlight project delivery experience, RFI and submittal workflows, and field coordination. Turner hires at the regional level, so targeting a specific office or project type in your application improves your chances of reaching the right hiring team.
Which visa types does Turner Construction Company commonly use for Construction Project Engineers?
Turner sponsors a range of visa types for Construction Project Engineers, including the H-1B, E-3 for Australian nationals, TN for Canadian and Mexican professionals, F-1 OPT and CPT for students, J-1 for exchange visitors, and employment-based Green Cards through EB-2 and EB-3 categories. The right visa depends on your nationality, degree, and career stage.
What qualifications does Turner Construction Company expect for a Construction Project Engineer?
Turner generally expects a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a closely related field. Hands-on experience with project scheduling software, subcontractor management, cost tracking, and safety compliance is valued. For visa sponsorship purposes, your degree must align with the specialty occupation definition USCIS applies to engineering roles, so field-specific credentials carry significant weight.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take if Turner extends an offer?
Timeline depends on visa type. An E-3 or TN can be processed in weeks once Turner completes the required DOL Labor Condition Application. An H-1B cap-subject petition follows the annual lottery and takes several months before an October 1 start date. EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card paths involve PERM labor certification, which can add one to two years or more before permanent residence is granted.
