Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Construction Estimator Jobs at Turner Construction Company Jobs
Align Your Credentials to USCIS Specialty Occupation Standards
Construction Estimator roles must qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS criteria. A bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a closely related field strengthens your petition. A general business degree with no construction coursework creates gaps worth addressing before you apply.
Target Turner's Project-Based Hiring Cycles
Turner staffs estimators around major project pursuits, so openings cluster when large bids are in motion. Monitor their careers page for regional estimating roles tied to active market sectors like healthcare, commercial, and data center construction, where their pipeline is consistently strong.
Position Preconstruction Experience as Your Core Value
Turner's estimating function sits within preconstruction, not just back-office cost tracking. Candidates who can speak to quantity takeoffs, trade subcontractor scoping, and bid leveling on projects over fifty million dollars stand out from applicants with only conceptual or software-only estimating backgrounds.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Turner's Open Estimator Roles
Search Turner Construction Company directly on Migrate Mate to browse current Construction Estimator openings filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility. This saves time confirming which positions are open to sponsored candidates before you invest in tailoring your application materials.
Clarify Your Visa Type Early in Recruiter Conversations
Turner sponsors multiple visa categories including H-1B, E-3, and TN. Tell the recruiter your current status and target visa type in the first conversation. This lets their HR team confirm eligibility and engage immigration counsel before an offer moves forward, avoiding delays at the offer stage.
Account for PERM Labor Market Testing if Pursuing a Green Card
If your goal is permanent residency through EB-2 or EB-3, Turner must first complete DOL's PERM process, which involves a supervised recruitment period that can take twelve months or more before the I-140 is even filed. Build that timeline into your long-term planning from day one.

Find Construction Estimator at Turner Construction Company JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Turner Construction Company sponsor H-1B visas for Construction Estimators?
Yes, Turner Construction Company sponsors H-1B visas for Construction Estimator roles. The role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation given its requirement for a degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related technical field. Turner works with immigration counsel to file H-1B petitions, though sponsorship is confirmed at the offer stage and subject to USCIS cap timelines if you're not already in H-1B status.
How do I apply for Construction Estimator jobs at Turner Construction Company?
Applications go through Turner's official careers portal, where roles are listed by region and project type. You can also browse visa-sponsorship-confirmed openings on Migrate Mate, which filters Turner's active Construction Estimator postings by sponsorship eligibility. Tailor your resume to preconstruction experience, including project value ranges, estimating software proficiency, and trade scope coverage relevant to Turner's market sectors.
Which visa types does Turner Construction Company commonly use for Construction Estimator positions?
Turner sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, and immigrant visa categories including EB-2 and EB-3 for qualifying candidates. E-3 is available exclusively to Australian citizens and offers a streamlined path compared to the H-1B lottery. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals under USMCA. The right visa depends on your nationality, current status, and career-stage goals.
What qualifications and experience does Turner look for in a Construction Estimator?
Turner expects candidates to hold a bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a closely related technical discipline. Hands-on experience with detailed quantity takeoffs, subcontractor bid analysis, and project budget development is heavily weighted. Familiarity with estimating platforms commonly used in large commercial construction, along with exposure to projects of significant scale, strengthens your candidacy considerably against the applicant pool Turner typically sees.
How do I time my application around H-1B cap filing deadlines?
USCIS opens H-1B cap registration in March each year for an October 1 start date. To be considered in that cycle, you need a job offer and completed petition well before the registration window opens. If you're on F-1 OPT, your employer can file cap-subject H-1B petitions while your OPT remains valid. Missing the annual cap cycle means waiting another full year, so aligning your Turner offer timeline to the USCIS calendar is critical.
