Align your credentials to specialty occupation standards
Turner's engineering roles typically require a degree directly tied to the position, such as civil, structural, or mechanical engineering. USCIS scrutinizes specialty occupation claims in construction, so a clear degree-to-role match strengthens your H-1B petition from the start.
Target Turner's large-scale project offices
Turner operates through regional offices tied to active construction projects. Engineering openings cluster around major commercial, healthcare, and infrastructure builds. Applying to offices with active project pipelines improves your chances of landing a role with genuine long-term staffing need.
Clarify sponsorship scope before accepting an offer
Turner sponsors multiple visa categories including H-1B, TN, and E-3. Before signing, confirm which visa type applies to your situation, whether they cover premium processing, and who manages the immigration filing internally or through outside counsel.
Understand PERM timing for engineering green card paths
EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship through PERM requires DOL-supervised recruitment that can take a year or more before the petition is even filed. If permanent residency matters to you, ask about Turner's internal policy on initiating PERM for engineering staff.
Use OPT and CPT to build Turner-relevant field experience
Turner actively hires F-1 students through internships and full-time OPT positions. Completing a structural or project engineering internship at Turner creates a direct path to H-1B sponsorship, since the company already knows your work and has an established legal structure for the transition.
Browse open Engineering roles using Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters job listings by visa type and employer sponsorship history, so you can identify which Turner Engineering openings are actively seeking sponsored candidates rather than cold-applying through a general job board.

Find Engineering at Turner Construction Company JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Turner Construction Company sponsor H-1B visas for Engineers?
Yes, Turner Construction Company sponsors H-1B visas for engineering roles. Because construction engineering positions must qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS definitions, your offer letter and job duties need to clearly require a specific bachelor's degree or higher. Turner's size and established HR infrastructure mean they have experience navigating this requirement, but the degree-to-role alignment is still your responsibility to demonstrate.
How do I apply for Engineering jobs at Turner Construction Company?
Applications go through Turner's careers portal, where engineering roles are listed by region and project type. Tailor your resume to the specific discipline required, whether that's civil, structural, mechanical, or project engineering. If you need visa sponsorship, flag it early in the process. Migrate Mate lists Turner's open engineering positions filtered by sponsorship eligibility, which makes it easier to identify the right openings before applying.
Which visa types does Turner Construction Company commonly use for Engineering roles?
Turner sponsors H-1B visas for most engineering hires requiring USCIS petitions, along with E-3 visas for Australian engineers and TN visas for Canadian and Mexican engineers in qualifying occupations. F-1 OPT and CPT are used for students and recent graduates. For engineers pursuing permanent residency, Turner has sponsored EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards through the PERM labor certification process.
What qualifications does Turner Construction Company expect for sponsored Engineering positions?
Most sponsored engineering roles at Turner require a bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline, such as civil, structural, mechanical, or electrical engineering. Field experience on commercial construction projects is a strong differentiator. For H-1B purposes, your degree must directly correspond to the specific job duties, not just engineering in general, so generalist profiles with mismatched credentials face additional scrutiny during USCIS review.
How do I time my Engineering job search around visa deadlines at Turner?
If you're targeting H-1B sponsorship, Turner must file the petition by April 1 for an October 1 start date, which means securing an offer several months in advance. For F-1 OPT holders, Turner can begin employment while the H-1B is pending under the cap-gap rule, but your OPT expiration date and the lottery timeline need to align. TN and E-3 visas move faster since they don't require lottery selection or USCIS premium processing windows.
