Align your credentials with NCEES standards
Turner's Engineering Manager roles often expect a Professional Engineer license or progress toward one. Get your foreign degree evaluated through NCEES or a NACES-approved service before applying, so your qualifications read clearly to a U.S. hiring team.
Target Turner's self-perform and preconstruction divisions
Engineering Manager openings tied to Turner's self-perform work and preconstruction planning tend to involve longer project cycles, which makes sponsorship easier to justify internally. Filter your job search to roles explicitly tied to project delivery or field engineering operations.
Clarify your visa type early in conversations
Turner sponsors multiple visa categories for engineering functions, including E-3 for Australian citizens and TN for Canadians. Naming your visa type upfront helps their HR team route your file correctly instead of defaulting to H-1B assumptions that may slow the process.
Prepare for Turner's structured interview process
Turner typically runs multi-round interviews for Engineering Manager roles, including technical and behavioral rounds with project executives. Have documented examples of managing subcontractor scopes, schedule control, and cross-functional team leadership ready before your first call.
Understand the PERM timeline if pursuing a Green Card
If Turner extends a permanent role offer, the PERM labor certification process through DOL typically takes 12 to 18 months before an I-140 can be filed. Factor this into your status planning, especially if you're currently on OPT or a short-validity visa.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Engineering Manager roles
Engineering Manager openings at Turner are posted across multiple platforms but not always labeled consistently. Use Migrate Mate to browse verified sponsorship-eligible positions at Turner and filter specifically for Engineering Manager roles in your target U.S. market.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Turner Construction Company sponsor H-1B visas for Engineering Managers?
Yes, Turner Construction Company sponsors H-1B visas for Engineering Manager roles. Turner is an established H-1B sponsor with a track record across engineering and construction management functions. Because H-1B selection is subject to the annual lottery, timing your offer and filing around the April cap season is critical. Turner's HR team is familiar with the process, but confirming sponsorship scope during the offer stage is recommended.
Which visa types are commonly used for Engineering Manager roles at Turner Construction Company?
Turner sponsors several visa categories for Engineering Manager positions, including H-1B, E-3 (for Australian citizens), TN visa (for Canadian and Mexican nationals), and F-1 OPT and CPT for recent graduates. For candidates seeking permanent residence, Turner supports EB-2 and EB-3 green card petitions. The right category depends on your nationality, degree, and career stage, so clarifying this with Turner's recruiter early avoids delays.
What qualifications and experience are expected for Engineering Manager roles at Turner Construction Company?
Turner typically looks for a bachelor's degree in civil, mechanical, or structural engineering, with several years of progressive experience on large commercial or infrastructure projects. A Professional Engineer license is valued and sometimes required depending on the role's scope. Demonstrated experience managing subcontractors, overseeing RFIs and submittals, and coordinating across design and field teams is consistently relevant across Turner's Engineering Manager postings.
How do I apply for Engineering Manager jobs at Turner Construction Company?
You can search for Engineering Manager roles directly on Turner's careers site or use Migrate Mate to browse sponsorship-eligible openings at Turner in one place. When applying, tailor your resume to the specific project type listed in the posting, whether commercial, healthcare, or industrial. Highlight any U.S. project experience and your visa status or eligibility clearly. Turner's recruiting process typically includes a phone screen followed by structured interviews with project leadership.
How long does the sponsorship and visa process take for Engineering Manager roles at Turner?
Timeline depends on your visa category. H-1B petitions filed in April have an October 1 start date, meaning you may wait six months between offer and start. E-3 and TN processing at consulates can move faster, often within a few weeks of receiving your employer documents. If you're on F-1 OPT, your start date is more flexible. PERM-based green card cases through DOL take 12 to 18 months or more from initiation to I-140 filing.
