Target roles aligned with Twist's core science
Twist's sponsorship activity is concentrated in technical and scientific roles tied to its DNA synthesis platform. Focus your applications on positions in genomics, bioengineering, bioinformatics, and molecular biology, where visa sponsorship is most likely to be offered.
Understand that Twist sponsors both work visas and Green Cards
Twist has a demonstrated history of supporting both temporary work authorization and permanent residency pathways. If long-term U.S. settlement is your goal, ask about Green Card sponsorship timelines during the hiring process, not after you've accepted an offer.
Canadian and Mexican nationals should flag TN eligibility early
Twist sponsors TN visas, which are faster and cheaper to process than H-1B. If you're a Canadian or Mexican national in a qualifying scientific or engineering role, raise TN eligibility early in conversations with the hiring team or recruiter.
F-1 students should confirm OPT and CPT acceptance upfront
Twist sponsors both OPT and CPT, making it accessible for international students still completing degrees or recently graduated. When applying, confirm whether the specific role and team have previously supported student work authorization to avoid surprises later.
Search for Twist Bioscience roles on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history. Searching for Twist Bioscience there lets you identify open roles where visa sponsorship is already confirmed, saving time compared to cold-applying and asking later.
Prepare for a technical interview process in a specialized field
Biotech companies like Twist hire for highly specialized knowledge. Sponsoring a visa requires significant employer investment, so candidates who demonstrate deep domain expertise in synthetic biology, lab operations, or bioinformatics are more likely to receive sponsorship consideration.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Twist Bioscience sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Twist Bioscience sponsors H-1B visas. The company has a track record of filing H-1B petitions for qualifying employees, primarily in technical and scientific roles. If you're applying for a position that requires specialized expertise, it's worth confirming sponsorship availability directly with Twist's recruiting team during the interview process.
What visa types does Twist Bioscience sponsor?
Twist Bioscience sponsors H-1B visas, Green Cards through the EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based categories, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals. This range of visa types makes Twist accessible to international candidates at different stages, from students on OPT to experienced professionals seeking permanent residency.
Which departments or roles at Twist Bioscience are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Visa sponsorship at Twist Bioscience is most common in technical and scientific functions, including roles in genomics, synthetic biology, bioinformatics, molecular biology, and laboratory operations. Engineering and software roles supporting Twist's DNA synthesis platform also tend to attract sponsorship. Business, sales, and support functions are less likely to be sponsored, though it varies by seniority and role.
How do I apply for a job at Twist Bioscience as an international candidate?
Start by identifying open roles at Twist that align with your technical background, particularly in biotech or engineering. Migrate Mate lists verified sponsors including Twist Bioscience, so you can browse current openings and confirm sponsorship history before applying. When you reach the recruiter stage, be upfront about your visa status and ask which visa types the team has supported for similar roles.
How do I know if Twist Bioscience will sponsor a Green Card for me?
Twist has sponsored Green Cards through EB-2 and EB-3 categories, which are employment-based pathways typically initiated after you've been working at the company for some time. Green Card sponsorship is rarely guaranteed at the offer stage. The best approach is to ask during later interview rounds whether the company has a policy of sponsoring permanent residency for employees in your role type, and what the typical timeline looks like.
