Do you have the business savvy and problem-solving skills necessary to drive continuous improvement at scale? Are you looking to hit the ground running and have an immediate impact in a highly visible role? If so, you are a great fit for the Routing Operations team.
The Transportation Routing is looking to add a Routing Lead to our team. This person will play a key role in planning routes that deliver perfect, cost effective orders at scale for one or more of Wayfair’s first/last mile depots.
What you will do:
- Across all sites (first/last mile) execute daily routing to achieve desired results for customer/supplier experience, speed, and cost
- Use data to drive continuous improvement in core business outcomes: Planned Stops per Route, Cartons per Driver, Transportation Efficiency (Utilization), Scheduled Dwell, In-Window %, Routes Hrs, Cube/driver, On time pickup% and Route Review Timing/hand-off
- Proactively monitor upcoming routes, identifying efficiency opportunities, correcting input defects, and resolving potential violations of customer/supplier experience and operational feasibility
- Plan 1st/Last mile OB truck counts for short term and medium term based on forecasted/actual volume trends
- Primary SME for late/early coverage with ability to answer/resolve FM/LM escalations from peers and partners
- Drive compliance of Routing SOPS to ensure defect free handoffs
- Facilitate local site/carrier feedback to identify trends, change settings, or proactively address local situation (e.g. bridge closure, weather event, carrier training)
- Be a subject matter expert in Routing software (Descartes) to reduce defects and time-spent routing while achieving business objectives
- Provide direct input to Routing + Scheduling technology teams about existing tools and make recommendations for process changes/improvements

- Utilizes data when providing written updates to peer stakeholder groups, clearly describing key takeaways and findings
