Frame your credentials around energy sector deals
Westinghouse prioritizes Business Development candidates with experience in energy, nuclear, or industrial markets. Before applying, tailor your resume to highlight specific partnerships, contracts, or commercial negotiations in capital-intensive industries rather than general sales or BD experience.
Target roles tied to nuclear services expansion
Westinghouse actively pursues new reactor projects and long-term fuel and services contracts globally. Roles tied to those growth areas move faster through internal hiring approvals, which matters when visa sponsorship requires additional sign-off from HR and legal before an offer is extended.
Clarify your visa type early in the process
If you're on F-1 OPT, your work authorization clock is already running. Raise your status and remaining OPT duration with the recruiter before the final interview stage so Westinghouse's immigration counsel can assess H-1B cap timing and whether a cap-exempt filing applies to your situation.
Understand how TN eligibility applies to your role
Canadian and Mexican nationals in Business Development may qualify for TN status if the role maps to a covered USMCA profession. Confirm with USCIS criteria whether your specific title and duties qualify before assuming H-1B is your only path, as TN avoids lottery risk entirely.
Prepare references with nuclear or government contract context
Westinghouse's BD function frequently involves government and utility clients. References who can speak to your credibility in regulated or government-adjacent environments carry more weight than general commercial references and can accelerate internal hiring approvals that precede any visa filing decision.
Use Migrate Mate to track open Business Development roles
Westinghouse posts Business Development openings across multiple locations and business units. Use Migrate Mate to filter and monitor those listings by visa sponsorship eligibility, so you're applying to positions where sponsorship is already confirmed rather than following up on it after interviews.

Find Business Development at Westinghouse Electric Company JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Westinghouse Electric Company sponsor H-1B visas for Business Developments?
Yes, Westinghouse Electric Company sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development roles where the position meets the specialty occupation standard, typically requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as engineering, business, or finance. Sponsorship decisions are made on a role-by-role basis and depend on internal headcount approvals and immigration counsel review, so confirming sponsorship intent early in the interview process is important.
Which visa types does Westinghouse Electric Company commonly use for Business Development positions?
Westinghouse sponsors H-1B visas for most Business Development roles and also supports F-1 OPT and CPT for students transitioning into full-time positions. TN status may be available for Canadian and Mexican nationals if the role qualifies under USMCA professional categories. J-1 visa holders in exchange visitor programs may also find relevant BD opportunities, particularly in roles with an international or government-partnership focus.
What qualifications does Westinghouse Electric Company expect for Business Development roles?
Westinghouse typically looks for candidates with a background in engineering, energy, or technical sales, combined with demonstrated experience managing complex, long-cycle deals. Familiarity with nuclear energy, utility procurement, or government contracting environments gives candidates a meaningful edge. For international candidates seeking visa sponsorship, a clearly defined specialty occupation with a direct degree-to-role connection is essential for a successful H-1B petition.
How do I apply for Business Development jobs at Westinghouse Electric Company?
Applications go through Westinghouse's official careers portal. For visa-seeking candidates, Migrate Mate aggregates Westinghouse's open Business Development listings and filters them by sponsorship eligibility, so you can focus your applications on confirmed sponsorship opportunities. Before applying, align your resume to reflect energy sector experience and flag your visa status in early recruiter conversations to avoid delays later in the process.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Business Development role at Westinghouse?
Timeline depends heavily on your current visa status. If you're transitioning from F-1 OPT to H-1B, Westinghouse would need to file your H-1B petition by April 1 for an October 1 start under the standard cap process, assuming you clear the lottery. TN status for qualifying candidates can be obtained much faster, sometimes within days at a port of entry. Build at least three to four months of buffer into your start date expectations.
