Align your credentials to nuclear project standards
Westinghouse prioritizes PMP certification and experience with safety-critical or regulated projects. Before applying, verify your credentials translate clearly to U.S. nuclear industry expectations, since generic project management backgrounds receive less traction than energy-sector-specific experience.
Target roles tied to active plant projects
Westinghouse staffs Project Managers around specific reactor builds, outage management, and government contracts. Roles tied to active DOE or utility programs tend to have stronger sponsorship justification, since the employer must document business necessity when filing an H-1B petition with USCIS.
Clarify your visa type before the offer stage
Westinghouse sponsors multiple visa categories including H-1B, TN, and OPT. Knowing which status you hold and how it maps to their filing timeline prevents delays, since H-1B cap-subject cases require USCIS lottery registration in March, well before a typical start date.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Project Manager roles
Westinghouse posts Project Manager openings across multiple locations and programs simultaneously. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Westinghouse positions that align with your visa eligibility, so you're applying to roles where sponsorship is already confirmed.
Prepare documentation of regulated project experience
When Westinghouse files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL, they must justify the specialty occupation claim. Having scope-of-work documents, project charters, or regulatory compliance records ready strengthens both your interview and the employer's petition package.
Account for security clearance timelines in your planning
Some Westinghouse Project Manager roles supporting U.S. government or DOE contracts require background checks or security clearances, which can extend onboarding. Confirm clearance requirements early so your visa timeline and employment start date are realistic.

Does Westinghouse Electric Company sponsor H-1B visas for Project Managers?
Yes, Westinghouse Electric Company does sponsor H-1B visas for Project Manager roles. Project management in the nuclear and energy sector qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, which supports the H-1B petition. Cap-subject applicants should plan around the annual USCIS lottery registration window in March, since the H-1B has an 85,000-slot annual cap.
How do I apply for Project Manager jobs at Westinghouse Electric Company?
You can apply directly through Westinghouse's careers portal or find open roles on Migrate Mate, which filters listings by visa sponsorship availability. When applying, tailor your resume to highlight experience with regulated industries, safety-critical projects, or nuclear energy programs, since those qualifications align most closely with what Westinghouse Project Manager roles require.
Which visa types does Westinghouse Electric Company commonly use for Project Managers?
Westinghouse sponsors H-1B visas for most full-time Project Manager hires requiring employer-backed work authorization. They also support F-1 OPT and CPT for recent graduates entering the role, TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying occupations, and J-1 exchange visitor placements in certain program contexts.
What qualifications does Westinghouse Electric Company expect for Project Manager roles?
Westinghouse typically expects a bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related technical field, along with PMP certification or equivalent project management credentials. Experience managing projects in regulated or safety-critical environments, particularly nuclear, power generation, or defense, is strongly valued. Familiarity with DOE contract structures or NRC compliance frameworks further strengthens a candidacy.
How do I plan my timeline if I need H-1B sponsorship for a Westinghouse Project Manager role?
H-1B sponsorship follows a fixed federal calendar. USCIS opens lottery registration in March each year, with an October 1 start date for selected petitions. If you're interviewing with Westinghouse outside that window, confirm whether OPT, CPT, or TN status can bridge the gap. Premium processing is available to reduce USCIS adjudication time to roughly 15 business days once the petition is filed.
