Align your credentials to nuclear project standards
Westinghouse Program Manager roles often require familiarity with nuclear quality assurance frameworks like NQA-1. Documenting your experience with safety-critical project delivery, not just general PMP credentials, strengthens your profile for both the hiring team and any visa petition.
Target roles in active reactor programs
Westinghouse is actively expanding AP1000 and AP300 reactor programs. Program Manager openings tied to these projects tend to involve longer-term engagements, which supports multi-year visa sponsorship and reduces the risk of a role disappearing before your petition clears.
Search open Program Manager positions on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Westinghouse Program Manager openings by visa sponsorship type. This helps you identify which roles are actively accepting sponsored candidates before you invest time tailoring your application.
Clarify sponsorship scope during recruiter screening
Ask explicitly whether the role supports H-1B transfer or new H-1B cap filing. Westinghouse uses both paths depending on timing and business unit. Knowing which applies before your final interview prevents delays at the offer stage.
Prepare your I-94 and prior petition documents early
If you're transferring an existing H-1B to Westinghouse, USCIS requires your complete prior approval history. Gather all I-797 approval notices and I-94 records before the offer stage so your employer's immigration counsel can file without waiting on you.
Understand DOL prevailing wage timelines for energy roles
The Department of Labor prevailing wage determination for Program Manager roles in the energy sector can take several weeks and must precede the Labor Condition Application. Build this into your expected start-date timeline when negotiating with the hiring team.

Does Westinghouse Electric Company sponsor H-1B visas for Program Managers?
Yes, Westinghouse Electric Company does sponsor H-1B visas for Program Manager roles. The company operates in a highly specialized sector where qualified project management talent is in demand globally. Sponsorship is typically handled through the company's legal or HR function, and the process follows standard H-1B requirements including a certified Labor Condition Application filed with the DOL.
How do I apply for Program Manager jobs at Westinghouse Electric Company?
You can search and apply for Program Manager positions directly through the Westinghouse careers portal. Migrate Mate also aggregates Westinghouse openings and lets you filter specifically for roles with visa sponsorship, which saves time if you need confirmed sponsorship before applying. Tailor your application to highlight experience with large-scale, safety-regulated infrastructure or energy projects.
Which visa types does Westinghouse Electric Company commonly use for Program Managers?
Westinghouse sponsors H-1B visas for specialty occupation roles, which is the most common path for Program Managers. The company also works with F-1 OPT and F-1 CPT for candidates in post-degree work authorization periods, TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories, and J-1 visas for certain exchange or training arrangements.
What qualifications does Westinghouse Electric Company expect for Program Manager roles?
Most Westinghouse Program Manager openings require a bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related technical field, along with significant experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects. Familiarity with nuclear industry standards, government contracting, or regulated environments is frequently listed as preferred or required, depending on the specific program or business unit.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Program Manager offer at Westinghouse?
For an H-1B transfer from an existing petition, work authorization can begin as soon as USCIS receives the filing, which typically takes two to four weeks to prepare after an offer is signed. For a new H-1B cap filing, the process involves the annual lottery in March, with employment starting no earlier than October 1 of that fiscal year. Factor these timelines into your start date discussion.
