Align Your Credentials to Nuclear Standards
Westinghouse prioritizes engineers with knowledge of nuclear quality assurance frameworks like ASME NQA-1. Before applying, document any coursework, certifications, or project experience that maps directly to regulated manufacturing environments, not just general engineering work.
Target Roles Near Westinghouse Facility Clusters
Westinghouse concentrates Manufacturing Engineer openings near its Pennsylvania, Virginia, and South Carolina facilities. Applying to roles tied to a specific plant increases your chances of a faster hiring decision and clearer H-1B or TN filing timeline from a defined business unit.
Get Your OPT or CPT Paperwork Moving Early
If you're on F-1 status, USCIS OPT applications take up to 90 days to process. Submit your I-765 as soon as you receive a verbal offer so your Employment Authorization Document arrives before your start date.
Clarify Specialty Occupation Evidence With HR
H-1B approval for Manufacturing Engineer roles depends on demonstrating the position requires a specific bachelor's degree, not just any engineering degree. Ask the Westinghouse recruiter which degree fields are listed in the job requisition before your offer letter is drafted.
Browse Open Roles Through Migrate Mate First
Search Westinghouse Manufacturing Engineer openings on Migrate Mate to see which roles are active and filter specifically for positions open to visa sponsorship, saving you from applying to postings where sponsorship isn't available.
Prepare for Potential PERM Labor Market Testing
If a Green Card pathway comes up during negotiations, Westinghouse will need to complete DOL PERM recruitment steps before filing your I-140. This process typically takes 12 to 18 months, so ask your hiring manager early whether the role is designated for permanent sponsorship.

Does Westinghouse Electric Company sponsor H-1B visas for Manufacturing Engineers?
Yes, Westinghouse Electric Company sponsors H-1B visas for Manufacturing Engineer roles. The company operates in a regulated industry where specialized engineering credentials are consistently required, which supports the specialty occupation determination USCIS looks for. Your offer letter and the job description should clearly state the specific degree field required, as this strengthens the H-1B petition.
Which visa types are commonly used for Manufacturing Engineer roles at Westinghouse Electric Company?
Westinghouse supports H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and J-1 visas for Manufacturing Engineer positions. F-1 OPT is the most common starting point for recent graduates, while the H-1B is typical for longer-term employment. Canadian and Mexican engineers often use the TN visa, which doesn't require USCIS petition approval and can be obtained at the border or port of entry.
How do I apply for Manufacturing Engineer jobs at Westinghouse Electric Company?
You can find and apply for Manufacturing Engineer roles at Westinghouse Electric Company through Migrate Mate, which lists open positions and filters for visa sponsorship availability. What qualifications does Westinghouse Electric Company expect for Manufacturing Engineer roles?
Westinghouse typically requires a bachelor's degree in mechanical, nuclear, industrial, or materials engineering for Manufacturing Engineer positions. Hands-on experience with manufacturing process control, quality assurance documentation, and regulated production environments is valued.
