Align Your Credentials to Nuclear Supply Chain Standards
Westinghouse procurement roles often require familiarity with nuclear-grade supplier qualification processes and ASME or NQA-1 standards. Documenting this experience in your resume strengthens your specialty occupation case when your employer files an H-1B petition with USCIS.
Target Roles Tied to Active Capital Projects
Westinghouse's procurement hiring tends to cluster around large-scale nuclear plant projects and component manufacturing contracts. Applying when a major project is in active procurement phase improves your odds, since these roles carry stronger business necessity justification for sponsorship.
Verify Your OPT Work Authorization Covers Your Start Date
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your EAD card is valid before your first day. Westinghouse uses E-Verify, so any gap between your start date and your EAD effective date will trigger an immediate work authorization flag during onboarding.
Raise Sponsorship Directly During Offer Negotiations
Westinghouse's HR teams handle sponsorship at the offer stage, not during screening. Once you have a verbal offer, ask explicitly whether the role is approved for H-1B or TN sponsorship so timelines can be built into your start date before the written offer is drafted.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Open Procurement Roles by Visa Type
Browse Westinghouse's current procurement openings filtered by sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate. This saves time by surfacing only the roles where visa support has been confirmed, so you're not applying blindly and then discovering sponsorship isn't available.
Account for DOL Prevailing Wage Requirements in Your Salary Expectations
Before your H-1B petition is filed, your employer must submit a Labor Condition Application to the DOL confirming your offered wage meets the prevailing wage for procurement roles in your work location. Research DOL wage levels for your specific job title and geography so your expectations align.

Find Procurement at Westinghouse Electric Company JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Westinghouse Electric Company sponsor H-1B visas for Procurements?
Yes, Westinghouse Electric Company does sponsor H-1B visas for Procurement roles. Sponsorship is most common for positions requiring specialized technical knowledge tied to nuclear supply chain management or vendor qualification. Your employer initiates the H-1B petition with USCIS, but the role must qualify as a specialty occupation, so having a degree directly relevant to procurement or supply chain management strengthens your case.
How do I apply for Procurement jobs at Westinghouse Electric Company?
Applications go through Westinghouse's careers portal on their official website. Search for procurement, supply chain, or strategic sourcing titles and apply directly. You can also find Westinghouse procurement roles filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate, which surfaces only those positions confirmed to support international candidates, saving you time during your job search.
Which visa types does Westinghouse Electric Company commonly use for Procurement roles?
Westinghouse supports H-1B sponsorship for full-time procurement hires, along with F-1 OPT and CPT for students completing degrees in supply chain management, business, or engineering. TN visas are an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying procurement classifications. J-1 sponsorship is available in some cases for exchange-based roles, though it's less common in core procurement functions.
What qualifications and experience does Westinghouse expect for Procurement roles?
Most procurement roles at Westinghouse require a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, engineering, or a related field. Experience with nuclear-grade procurement, supplier qualification, or regulated industry supply chains is a strong differentiator. Familiarity with NQA-1 quality assurance standards, contract management, and ERP systems like SAP is frequently cited in active job postings for this function.
How do I time my application around H-1B filing deadlines if I'm currently on OPT?
The H-1B cap registration window opens in March each year for an October 1 start date. If your OPT expires before October 1 and you're selected in the lottery, you'll need to apply for a 60-day cap-gap extension through USCIS to bridge the gap. Starting your Westinghouse application process by late fall gives your employer enough lead time to file before the March registration window closes.
