Align your credentials with nuclear standards
Westinghouse operates under strict NRC regulatory frameworks, so credentials in nuclear quality assurance, ASME standards, or controlled manufacturing environments carry real weight. Verify your foreign credentials are recognized before applying to avoid delays in the hiring process.
Target roles tied to active nuclear projects
Westinghouse's manufacturing pipeline is tied to reactor builds and fuel assembly programs. Roles supporting AP1000 or eVinci projects are more likely to have active headcount needs, making them stronger targets for candidates who also need sponsorship.
Confirm your OPT or CPT timeline before interviewing
If you're on F-1 status, map your OPT expiration date against a realistic offer-to-start timeline. Manufacturing roles at an energy company can involve background checks and clearance steps that extend onboarding well beyond a standard start date.
Clarify the H-1B filing window during offer negotiations
H-1B cap-subject petitions must be filed by the April 1 USCIS registration deadline for an October 1 start. If your offer comes in late spring or summer, discuss a cap-exempt path or a deferred start to avoid missing the filing window entirely.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Manufacturing roles at Westinghouse
Search Migrate Mate's job board to browse current Manufacturing openings at Westinghouse Electric Company filtered by visa sponsorship type. It saves time verifying which postings are actively open to sponsored candidates in the energy and nuclear manufacturing sector.
Prepare for DOL prevailing wage review in specialized trades
Westinghouse's manufacturing roles often fall into highly specialized wage levels under DOL prevailing wage determinations. If your title or duties span multiple functions, ask your prospective employer how they've classified the role before the LCA is submitted.

Find Manufacturing at Westinghouse Electric Company JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Westinghouse Electric Company sponsor H-1B visas for Manufacturing roles?
Yes, Westinghouse Electric Company has sponsored H-1B visas for Manufacturing positions. Sponsorship availability depends on the specific role, your qualifications, and internal headcount approval. Because manufacturing in the nuclear energy sector often requires specialized expertise, roles in areas like fuel fabrication, reactor components, or quality engineering tend to be stronger candidates for sponsorship consideration.
How do I apply for Manufacturing jobs at Westinghouse Electric Company?
Applications for Manufacturing roles at Westinghouse go through the company's careers portal. You can also browse open positions filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate, which surfaces Westinghouse Manufacturing listings alongside sponsorship details. Tailor your resume to highlight relevant nuclear or energy sector manufacturing experience, as well as any familiarity with ASME, NRC, or quality management systems.
Which visa types does Westinghouse Electric Company use for Manufacturing hires?
Westinghouse has used H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and J-1 visas for roles across its workforce. For Manufacturing specifically, H-1B is the most common path for full-time hires. F-1 OPT and CPT are viable for students and recent graduates entering manufacturing internships or early-career roles. TN is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering or technical classifications.
What qualifications does Westinghouse expect for sponsored Manufacturing roles?
Most sponsored Manufacturing roles at Westinghouse require a bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical, nuclear, materials, or manufacturing engineering. Hands-on experience with precision manufacturing, quality control systems, or nuclear-grade component production is valued. Familiarity with NRC regulatory requirements, ASME codes, or controlled manufacturing environments strengthens your profile significantly for both the role and the sponsorship case.
How do I time a visa sponsorship process for a Westinghouse Manufacturing offer?
If you're pursuing H-1B sponsorship, the USCIS registration window opens in March each year, with an October 1 start date if selected. Factor in Westinghouse's onboarding process for nuclear facilities, which can include background checks and site access approvals. Building in a three to six month runway between offer acceptance and your expected start date reduces the risk of timing conflicts with filing deadlines.
