Align your credentials to nuclear standards
Westinghouse operates under NRC regulatory frameworks, so certifications like PMP or familiarity with nuclear quality assurance programs (10 CFR 50 Appendix B) in your resume signal readiness for their environment and reduce employer hesitation around sponsorship.
Target roles tied to active projects
Westinghouse's AP1000 reactor deployments and life extension contracts generate sustained Project Engineer demand. Applying to openings tied to named programs increases your odds of landing a role where the hiring timeline is fixed and sponsorship is already budgeted.
Search open Project Engineer roles on Migrate Mate
Filter by Westinghouse Electric Company on Migrate Mate to browse current Project Engineer openings verified for visa sponsorship eligibility, so you're applying to roles where international candidates are already in scope.
Prepare your LCA documentation before your start date
Westinghouse must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before your H-1B petition reaches USCIS. Confirm the prevailing wage level for your specific work location, since nuclear facilities often span multiple states with different wage determinations.

Find Project Engineer at Westinghouse Electric Company JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Westinghouse Electric Company sponsor H-1B visas for Project Engineers?
Yes, Westinghouse Electric Company sponsors H-1B visas for Project Engineers. The company operates in a specialized engineering sector where qualified international candidates are actively considered. Because H-1B sponsorship requires a Labor Condition Application filed with the DOL followed by a USCIS petition, you should discuss visa support early in the hiring process to confirm the role is eligible and budgeted for sponsorship.
How do I apply for Project Engineer jobs at Westinghouse Electric Company?
You can browse and apply for Project Engineer openings at Westinghouse Electric Company through Migrate Mate, which lists roles verified for visa sponsorship. When applying, tailor your resume to nuclear industry standards and regulatory familiarity. Westinghouse hiring processes for engineering roles typically include technical screens and panel interviews, so preparing for systems engineering and project lifecycle questions is recommended.
Which visa types does Westinghouse Electric Company commonly use for Project Engineers?
Westinghouse sponsors H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and J-1 visas for engineering roles. H-1B is the most common long-term pathway for Project Engineers. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering occupations. F-1 OPT and CPT allow students to begin working while H-1B sponsorship is arranged through the next lottery registration period.
What qualifications does Westinghouse Electric Company expect for Project Engineer roles?
Westinghouse Project Engineer roles typically require a bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, nuclear, or a closely related engineering discipline. Familiarity with nuclear industry standards, project management methodologies, and regulatory compliance frameworks strengthens your application. Roles supporting reactor design or plant modifications may require U.S. persons status under Department of Energy access requirements, so confirm eligibility before applying to classified programs.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Project Engineer position at Westinghouse Electric Company?
The timeline depends on your visa category. For H-1B, your employer files in March for an October 1 start date, meaning you need an offer in hand several months before the lottery. USCIS standard processing for H-1B petitions takes three to five months after lottery selection. TN and J-1 pathways move faster. Building in lead time during offer negotiations ensures your start date aligns with the filing calendar.
