Align your credentials to specialty occupation standards
Quality Engineer roles at consulting firms often draw scrutiny during H-1B adjudication because USCIS evaluates whether the position requires a degree in a specific field. Document that your engineering degree directly maps to the quality systems or technical standards work in the job description.
Research Westwood's client-facing quality engineering work
Westwood deploys Quality Engineers on client projects, so your resume needs to reflect project-based deliverables, not just internal process work. Frame your experience around audits, compliance programs, or quality management systems relevant to consulting engagements.
Target open roles before H-1B registration opens in March
If you need H-1B sponsorship, getting an offer before the March USCIS registration window matters. Westwood posts Quality Engineer openings regularly, so applying in late fall gives you time to clear interviews and align your start date with the October 1 cap-subject employment date.
Confirm CPT and OPT eligibility with your DSO early
Westwood sponsors F-1 OPT and CPT, which means you can start working before any H-1B petition is filed. Verify your OPT authorization period covers your anticipated start date, since consulting roles sometimes have delayed project assignments that affect when active employment begins.
Ask about PERM and EB sponsorship during the offer stage
Westwood's sponsorship of EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards means long-term permanent residency is on the table. Raise the question of PERM sponsorship timelines during offer negotiation, since DOL-supervised recruitment requirements mean the process works best when started well before your H-1B extensions run out.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Quality Engineer roles by visa type
Sorting by the specific visa types Westwood sponsors helps you focus your applications on roles where your authorization status is already a known fit. Migrate Mate lets you filter Quality Engineer openings at Westwood Professional Services by visa category so you're not guessing about eligibility.

Find Quality Engineer at Westwood Professional Services JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Westwood Professional Services sponsor H-1B visas for Quality Engineers?
Yes, Westwood Professional Services sponsors H-1B visas for Quality Engineers. Because these roles are structured around technical quality systems work requiring a relevant engineering degree, they generally meet USCIS specialty occupation standards. If you're on OPT, Westwood can file your H-1B petition ahead of the annual March registration window to keep your work authorization continuous.
Which visa types does Westwood Professional Services commonly sponsor for Quality Engineer roles?
Westwood sponsors H-1B, TN, J-1, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and employment-based Green Cards including EB-2 and EB-3 for Quality Engineer positions. F-1 OPT and CPT are practical starting points for recent graduates, while TN is an efficient path for Canadian and Mexican nationals whose engineering credentials meet NAFTA-successor USMCA qualifications for engineers.
What qualifications does Westwood Professional Services expect for Quality Engineer candidates seeking sponsorship?
Westwood typically hires Quality Engineers with a bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial, or a related engineering discipline. Consulting-focused roles emphasize applied skills in quality management systems, auditing, and regulatory compliance rather than purely academic credentials. Professional certifications like CQE from ASQ can strengthen your profile, particularly if your degree field is adjacent rather than directly aligned with the role.
How do I apply for Quality Engineer jobs at Westwood Professional Services?
You can browse and apply for Quality Engineer roles at Westwood Professional Services directly through Migrate Mate, which filters open positions by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm your authorization status matches before applying. When you apply, tailor your resume to reflect project-based quality engineering deliverables, since Westwood's consulting model values client-facing technical experience over internal process descriptions.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Quality Engineer at Westwood Professional Services?
Timeline depends on visa type. F-1 OPT authorization takes around three to five months from your DSO application, so start early. H-1B cap-subject petitions are tied to the October 1 fiscal year start, meaning employment under a new H-1B typically begins roughly six months after the March lottery. EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through PERM takes longer, often several years depending on your country of birth and priority date.
