At WHOOP, we're on a mission to unlock human performance. WHOOP empowers members to perform at a higher level through a deeper understanding of their bodies and daily lives.
We are seeking a Business Analyst II to partner closely with our Product team, with a focus on how the broader Machine Learning & Research and Sensor Intelligence teams efforts come to life within the product experience. This role sits at the intersection of algorithms and product — you'll develop a deep understanding of WHOOP's core algorithms (heart rate, sleep, activities, etc.) while connecting that knowledge to broader product strategy, feature adoption, and member engagement.
We are looking for someone who is fluent in data, driven by product thinking, and eager to understand complex analytical challenges. This person should feel empowered to foster their own curiosity, ask sharp questions about how algorithmic outputs translate into the member experience, and raise support for ideas that meaningfully impact WHOOP's product.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Product, Sensor Intelligence, Machine Learning, Software, and UX to inform product strategy and roadmap decisions with data.
- Develop a working understanding of WHOOP's algorithms and their outputs, and use that context to analyze how algorithmic features perform within the product experience.
- Support experimentation and feature launches by defining success metrics, building measurement frameworks, and surfacing insights on feature adoption and member behavior.
- Analyze the relationship between algorithmic outputs and product engagement — helping stakeholders understand not just what the algorithms produce, but how members interact with those outputs.
- Build and maintain scalable reporting processes that enable product and algorithms stakeholders to self-serve insights and make data-driven decisions.
- Proactively surface insights and action-oriented recommendations that go beyond the immediate ask — identifying opportunities to improve the member experience.
- Collaborate with a high-performance team in a fast-paced environment, contributing analytical rigor to cross-functional discussions.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in an analytical role with demonstrated ownership of business-critical metrics or initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to distill complex problems into clear, actionable, data-driven insights and communicate them effectively to stakeholders.
- Strong technical and analytical skills, including proficiency in SQL and familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Hex, Tableau, or similar).
- Familiarity with modern data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake) and analytics workflows (e.g., dbt, ELT) is a plus.
- Curiosity about how algorithms and models work — you don't need to build them, but you should be eager to understand their inputs, outputs, and how they shape the product.
- High intellectual curiosity and a self-starting mindset; comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Strong commitment to embracing and leveraging AI tools in day-to-day tasks, ensuring AI-assisted work aligns with the same high-quality standards as personal contributions.
This role is based in the WHOOP office located in Boston, MA. The successful candidate must be prepared to relocate if necessary to work out of the Boston, MA office.
Interested in the role, but don’t meet every qualification? We encourage you to still apply! At WHOOP, we believe there is much more to a candidate than what is written on paper, and we value character as much as experience. Frame Your Analytics Work Around Health Data
Whoop's BA roles require working with biometric and performance datasets, not general business metrics. Tailor your portfolio to show experience with time-series data, sensor outputs, or health research datasets before you apply.
Use Migrate Mate to Target Open Roles Efficiently
Whoop regularly posts multiple Business Analyst openings across different teams. Use Migrate Mate to filter and track these roles by visa type so you're applying to positions already confirmed for sponsorship.
Align Your Degree Field to the Specialty Occupation Standard
For H-1B eligibility, USCIS requires your degree to directly relate to the role's duties. Business Analytics, Statistics, or Computer Science degrees map cleanly to Whoop's BA function. A general business degree with no technical coursework may require additional documentation.
Prepare for a Cross-Functional Interview Process
Whoop's BA hiring typically involves product, engineering, and science stakeholders. Prepare case studies that show how your analysis drove decisions across teams, not just within a single department.

Find Business Analyst at Whoop JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Whoop sponsor H-1B visas for Business Analysts?
Yes, Whoop sponsors H-1B visas for Business Analyst roles. The H-1B requires your position to qualify as a specialty occupation and your degree to align with the role's duties. Whoop's BA function, which is grounded in performance science and data analysis, typically satisfies the USCIS specialty occupation standard. Your employer handles the petition filing, but you'll need to coordinate on timing relative to USCIS's annual April filing window.
How do I apply for Business Analyst jobs at Whoop?
Apply directly through Whoop's careers page, where Business Analyst openings are listed by team. You can also browse current visa-eligible openings on Migrate Mate, which filters Whoop's postings by sponsorship type. Tailor your application to highlight quantitative skills and experience with health, fitness, or research data, since Whoop's BA work is tightly connected to its wearable sensor platform.
Which visa types does Whoop sponsor for Business Analyst roles?
Whoop sponsors H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN visas for Business Analyst positions. F-1 students can begin on CPT during their program or OPT after graduation. TN status is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying analytical roles. For long-term employment, most candidates eventually transition to H-1B sponsorship through the annual USCIS lottery.
What qualifications does Whoop look for in Business Analyst candidates?
Whoop prioritizes candidates with a bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Data Science, or Computer Science. Practical experience with SQL, Python, or data visualization tools is expected. Because Whoop operates in the health and performance science space, experience with biometric data, experimental design, or research methodologies gives candidates a clear advantage over generalist business analysts.
How do I time my H-1B filing if I receive a Business Analyst offer from Whoop?
USCIS opens H-1B registration each March for an October 1 start date. If you're on F-1 OPT, your OPT authorization must bridge the gap until October 1. If your OPT expires before then, you may qualify for a 60-day Cap-Gap extension while your H-1B petition is pending. Confirm your OPT end date with your DSO as early as possible so Whoop's legal team can plan the filing accordingly.
