Align your portfolio to real estate data
Zillow evaluates Analytics Engineers on their ability to model housing market data, not just generic pipeline work. Frame past projects around property valuation, demand forecasting, or geospatial data to signal direct relevance before your first interview.
Clarify sponsorship scope during the offer stage
Zillow distinguishes between sponsoring new H-1B cap filings and transferring existing H-1B status. Ask your recruiter explicitly which scenarios their team handles, so you're not surprised by eligibility gaps after an offer is extended.
Time your OPT application around Zillow's hiring cycles
Zillow's engineering teams typically ramp hiring in Q1 and Q3. If you're on F-1 OPT, apply at least 90 days before your EAD expires to leave room for onboarding timelines without triggering unauthorized employment risk.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Zillow's open Analytics Engineer roles
Searching broadly across job boards buries sponsorship-eligible roles. Migrate Mate lets you filter directly for Analytics Engineer positions at Zillow by visa type, so you're applying to roles where your status is already a fit.
Document your dbt and data modeling credentials before applying
Zillow's Analytics Engineering job descriptions consistently reference dbt, Snowflake, and SQL modeling. Gather work samples or certifications in these tools before submitting your application, since technical screens move quickly after the recruiter call.

Find Analytics Engineer at Zillow JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Zillow sponsor H-1B visas for Analytics Engineers?
Yes, Zillow sponsors H-1B visas for Analytics Engineer roles. The company supports both new cap-subject H-1B filings and transfers for candidates already holding H-1B status with another employer. Sponsorship is handled through Zillow's in-house immigration team, but availability can vary by role level and team, so confirming sponsorship intent with your recruiter early in the process is practical.
Which visa types does Zillow commonly sponsor for Analytics Engineer roles?
Zillow sponsors a range of visa types for Analytics Engineer positions, including H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and J-1. For longer-term permanent residency, Zillow also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways through PERM labor certification. The right pathway depends on your current immigration status, country of origin, and how far along you are in your career.
How do I apply for Analytics Engineer jobs at Zillow?
You can browse and apply for Analytics Engineer roles at Zillow directly through Zillow's careers page or through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship eligibility so you can confirm a position fits your status before applying. Zillow's hiring process for Analytics Engineers typically includes a recruiter screen, a technical SQL and data modeling assessment, and a system design interview before the offer stage.
What qualifications does Zillow expect for Analytics Engineer roles?
Zillow typically looks for proficiency in SQL, experience with dbt or similar transformation frameworks, and familiarity with cloud data warehouses like Snowflake or BigQuery. A bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, or a related quantitative field is standard. Candidates with experience modeling real estate, marketplace, or product analytics data tend to move through the process faster given Zillow's core business context.
How do I plan my immigration timeline when targeting an Analytics Engineer role at Zillow?
If you're on F-1 OPT, apply with enough runway for Zillow's full interview cycle, which can span four to six weeks. H-1B cap filings must be submitted to USCIS by April 1 for an October 1 start date, so offers need to be finalized by March. For TN status, Canadians and Mexicans can move faster since TN is processed at the port of entry without USCIS cap constraints.
