Frame your experience around proptech partnerships
Zillow recruits Business Development talent who understand how technology intersects with real estate transactions. Reframe your resume around marketplace growth, agent or broker partnerships, or SaaS deal cycles rather than generic sales experience.
Target roles before the H-1B registration window
USCIS opens H-1B registration each March for the following October start. Time your outreach to Zillow's Business Development team in Q4 through Q1 so an offer and I-129 filing align with that window.
Verify your OPT end date before starting conversations
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your I-94 expiration and whether your STEM extension has been filed. Zillow's recruiting process for Business Development roles can run eight to twelve weeks, and you need runway to avoid a status gap.
Ask about cap-exempt filing paths during the offer stage
If you've already been counted against the H-1B cap at a previous employer, Zillow can file a transfer petition outside the lottery. Raise this with the recruiter early so USCIS processing timelines don't delay your start date.
Use Migrate Mate to filter verified Business Development openings at Zillow
Zillow posts Business Development roles across multiple channels and titles vary widely. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsorship-eligible openings so you can apply directly to positions where visa support is confirmed rather than assumed.
Understand how PERM affects your long-term planning
Zillow sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for qualifying employees. For Business Development roles, PERM labor certification typically requires demonstrating no qualified U.S. applicant exists, so documenting your specialized real estate or proptech expertise from day one strengthens that case later.

Find Business Development at Zillow JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Zillow sponsor H-1B visas for Business Development roles?
Yes, Zillow sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development positions. The company has a consistent record of filing H-1B petitions for this function, covering both new cap-subject registrations and transfers for candidates already holding H-1B status with another employer. If you receive an offer, confirm the sponsorship scope and expected start date with the recruiter before resigning from any current role.
How do I apply for Business Development jobs at Zillow?
Applications go through Zillow's careers site, where Business Development roles are listed under categories like Partnerships, Sales, or Corporate Development. Titles vary, so searching broadly improves results. Migrate Mate is a reliable way to find and monitor sponsorship-eligible Business Development openings at Zillow in one place, filtering out roles where visa support hasn't been confirmed.
Which visa types does Zillow commonly use for Business Development hires?
Zillow sponsors H-1B visas as the primary work authorization path for Business Development professionals. The company also supports F-1 OPT and CPT for students transitioning into full-time roles, TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying specialty occupations, and J-1 exchange visitor status in some cases. For long-term permanent residence, Zillow has sponsored EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for employees in this function.
What qualifications does Zillow expect for Business Development roles?
Zillow's Business Development positions typically require a bachelor's degree in business, real estate, finance, or a related field, with demonstrated experience in partnerships, deal structuring, or market expansion. Familiarity with the U.S. residential real estate market, MLS data ecosystems, or proptech platforms is a meaningful differentiator. Senior roles often require a track record of closing complex agreements with brokerages, builders, or enterprise clients.
How do visa timelines affect starting a Business Development role at Zillow?
The timeline depends on your current status. H-1B cap-subject candidates need to be registered in March and can't start before October 1. OPT holders can start sooner if their authorization covers the employment period and the employer files an H-1B petition before OPT expires. TN status can be obtained at a port of entry with an offer letter, making it the fastest path for eligible Canadian and Mexican nationals. Confirm the filing timeline with Zillow's HR team at the offer stage.
