Tips for Finding Sales Jobs at Zillow
Frame your real estate knowledge early
Zillow interviews for Sales roles assess fluency in residential real estate cycles, not just sales methodology. Research how Premier Agent partnerships and rental marketplace products work before your first screen so you can speak to customer pain points directly.
Confirm OPT STEM extension eligibility upfront
F-1 candidates often assume Sales roles don't qualify for a 24-month STEM OPT extension. If your underlying degree is in a STEM field, verify your DSO confirms eligibility before accepting an offer, since the extension buys meaningful runway before H-1B is needed.
Target roles with quota-carrying pipeline responsibility
Zillow's sponsored Sales positions tend to involve direct revenue ownership, such as territory management or Premier Agent account work. Roles framed around quota attainment signal internal seniority, which strengthens the specialty occupation argument USCIS evaluates in H-1B petitions.
Search open Sales roles on Migrate Mate
Filter for Zillow's sponsorship-confirmed Sales openings on Migrate Mate before applying through general job boards. Knowing which roles have active sponsorship history lets you prioritize outreach and tailor your application to positions where you're most likely to get an offer with visa support.
Align your timeline with the H-1B cap window
USCIS opens H-1B registration each March for an October 1 start date. If you're on OPT and interviewing at Zillow in late fall or winter, ask the recruiter whether the role can be structured around this filing calendar to avoid gaps in your work authorization.
Get the LCA wage level in writing before signing
Your offer letter won't show the DOL Labor Condition Application wage tier. Ask Zillow's immigration counsel which prevailing wage level applies to your specific Sales title in your work location, since Level I and Level II designations affect both your salary floor and how USCIS evaluates the petition.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Zillow sponsor H-1B visas for Sales roles?
Yes, Zillow sponsors H-1B visas for Sales positions. The company works with immigration counsel to file cap-subject H-1B petitions for eligible candidates in roles that meet the specialty occupation standard. Sales roles tied to specific technical or analytical functions, such as Premier Agent strategy or enterprise account management, tend to have the strongest sponsorship cases.
How do I apply for Sales jobs at Zillow?
Start by browsing open Sales roles on Migrate Mate, which surfaces Zillow's sponsorship-confirmed positions and filters by visa type. Apply directly through Zillow's careers portal, and flag your sponsorship needs clearly in the initial recruiter screen. Zillow's recruiting team is familiar with the H-1B and OPT process, so early transparency about your timeline and work authorization status is expected.
Which visa types does Zillow commonly use for Sales positions?
Zillow supports a range of visa types for Sales hires, including H-1B, F-1 OPT and CPT, TN visa for Canadian and Mexican nationals, J-1 visa, and Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3. The right visa depends on your nationality, degree field, and how long you've been in the U.S. Your recruiter will typically connect you with immigration counsel after an offer is extended.
What qualifications does Zillow look for in Sales candidates who need sponsorship?
Zillow's Sales roles typically require a bachelor's degree, often in business, marketing, or a related field, along with demonstrated experience in consultative or quota-carrying sales. For H-1B sponsorship specifically, the role needs to qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, which means the position must normally require a degree in a specific field. Roles involving strategic account management or data-driven territory planning tend to meet this bar more cleanly.
How do I manage my visa timeline when pursuing a Sales offer at Zillow?
If you're on F-1 OPT, make sure your authorization covers the period between your start date and the next H-1B cap filing window. OPT can be extended by up to 24 months for STEM-eligible graduates, which gives additional buffer. For TN candidates, the process is faster since there's no annual cap and no lottery. Zillow's immigration team typically initiates the H-1B petition process well before the USCIS registration window opens each March.
