INTRODUCTION
The Human Resources Accommodation Specialist is responsible for guiding employees through the accommodation process when faced with temporary or permanent disabilities and/or job restrictions. This role ensures that all requests for accommodations are handled efficiently, compassionately, and in compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees seeking job accommodations, providing clear guidance and support throughout the process.
- Assess and understand the employee’s need for accommodation by reviewing medical documentation and collaborating with the employee’s treating physician.
- Evaluate available light duty assignments and alternative job duties to facilitate the employee’s return to work.
- Assist team members with securing light duty assignments for temporary placements due to reasonable accommodation process.
- Coordinate and communicate regularly with HR Business Partner team, leadership, the employee, the leave of absence team, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure seamless case management.
- Maintain thorough documentation of accommodation requests, communications, and outcomes.
- Apply a comprehensive knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Pregnancy Discrimination laws, and other related employment regulations to ensure legal compliance.
- Maintain current knowledge of, and ensure practices align with, applicable leave and accommodation laws and regulations, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and relevant state and local leave requirements.
- Manage multiple cases simultaneously, demonstrating exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Review and interpret job descriptions to match employees with appropriate roles and duties.

COMPENSATION
- Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is $31.27 per hour - $53.78 per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
