Entry Level Configuration Analyst Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level configuration analyst job?
Focus on building hands-on experience with configuration management tools, ticketing systems, and software deployment workflows, even through coursework, labs, or internships. Employers at this level look for attention to detail, comfort with documentation, and a basic understanding of IT or software environments. Certifications like CompTIA A+ or ITIL Foundation can strengthen an application when direct experience is limited.
Which companies hire entry level configuration analysts?
Companies hiring entry level configuration analysts right now include Oscar Management Corporation, Lockheed Martin, and Northrop Grumman, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a broad mix of technology firms, defense contractors, healthcare systems, and managed service providers that maintain large software or hardware environments requiring active configuration oversight.
Are there remote entry level configuration analyst jobs?
Yes, though on-site roles remain common at this stage since many employers prefer new hires to learn workflows in person. About 51% of entry level configuration analyst openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, so candidates who need flexibility will find options, particularly with larger technology companies and consulting firms.
Are these new grad configuration analyst jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior configuration analyst roles. A posting is typically new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts internships or academic projects as qualifying background, or explicitly invites candidates who can demonstrate relevant skills through a portfolio rather than a long professional history.
Which industries hire the most entry level configuration analysts?
Entry Level configuration analyst roles concentrate in Insurance, Technology & Software, and Banking & Financial Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Those sectors drive hiring at this level because they manage complex, frequently updated software or system environments where junior analysts can contribute to version control, change tracking, and documentation from day one.
