Construction Jobs in Nashville: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a construction job in Nashville?
Target the commercial developers and general contractors driving Nashville's rapid growth, particularly those working on mixed-use projects in areas like Germantown, SoBro, and the broader urban core. Hands-on experience with concrete, steel framing, or MEP systems stands out here. Familiarity with Tennessee safety standards and OSHA 10 or 30 certification gives candidates a clear edge with Nashville's larger site employers.
Which companies hire constructions in Nashville?
Employers hiring constructions in Nashville right now include JE Dunn Construction, S&ME, and TTL, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of November 2026. Nashville's construction market draws a mix of large regional general contractors, specialty subcontractors, and national developers with active projects across the metro.
Are there remote construction jobs in Nashville?
Yes, though remote work is rare for hands-on field roles and more common for project management, estimating, and design coordination positions. About 21% of construction openings tied to Nashville are remote or hybrid as of November 2026, with most of those concentrated in preconstruction and administrative functions. On-site trades and field supervision roles remain firmly in person.
How can I get a construction job in Nashville with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Nashville is through a union apprenticeship, particularly with local chapters of the carpenters, laborers, or electricians unions that run active programs in the metro. Nashville's ongoing stadium, transit, and mixed-use developments mean general contractors regularly hire entry-level laborers and helpers for site support. Showing up with OSHA 10 certification and a reliable schedule makes a strong first impression with local site supervisors.
