Construction Manager Jobs in Jacksonville: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a construction manager job in Jacksonville?
Focus your search on Jacksonville's commercial development and infrastructure sectors, which drive the heaviest local hiring. Southside and the Urban Core have the densest concentration of active projects, while Northside industrial expansion is adding roles steadily. Candidates with experience managing ground-up commercial builds or public infrastructure projects stand out in this market. General contractors, civil engineering firms, and municipal subcontractors are the employer types worth targeting first.
Which companies hire construction managers in Jacksonville?
Jacksonville construction manager roles are posted by RQ Construction, The Haskell Company, and PulteGroup and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Jacksonville's mix of regional general contractors, national developers active in Northeast Florida, and port-adjacent industrial employers means openings appear across both private development and public works.
Are there remote construction manager jobs in Jacksonville?
Yes, but only partially: construction management is largely site-dependent, so fully remote roles are uncommon, though project controls, preconstruction planning, and estimating functions can be done remotely. About 9% of construction manager openings tied to Jacksonville are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, concentrated in owner-side program management and consulting roles. On-site field supervision and owner's representative positions in Jacksonville remain in-person by nature.
How can I get a construction manager job in Jacksonville with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Jacksonville is through assistant project manager or field engineer roles with mid-size regional general contractors who build locally. Jacksonville's steady pipeline of multifamily and commercial projects means these firms hire entry-level candidates with construction management degrees or relevant co-op experience. Targeting subcontractors on active Southside and Downtown urban infill projects also opens doors, since hands-on site exposure there transitions well into full project management responsibilities.
Which industries hire the most construction managers in Jacksonville?
Most construction manager openings in Jacksonville sit in Manufacturing, Food & Beverage, and Staffing & Recruiting, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Jacksonville's role as a regional logistics hub, combined with ongoing Downtown riverfront redevelopment and Northside industrial growth, keeps demand for construction managers high across both private development and publicly funded infrastructure work.
