Wallace Group is seeking an experienced, boots-on-the-ground Field Services Manager to direct special inspection operations for a multi-year megaproject in Columbus, Ohio. Spanning an expansive, high-density campus with multiple complex structures under construction simultaneously, this role requires active, sophisticated field coordination. In this position, you will direct a multi-disciplinary team of special inspectors, field technicians, and testing personnel across dynamic, high-volume job sites. The role demands an operational leader capable of managing complex site logistics, real-time schedule shifts, and rigorous QA/QC compliance for heavy-civil and structural builds.

• Full-time, Hourly (Non-Exempt) with consistent overtime potential
• Expect a core 40–50 hour workweek, scaling with project pace and critical concrete/structural pours
• On-site management of day-to-day operations.
• Daily coordination of technical staff and scheduling field inspections, including resolution of scheduling conflicts.
• Ensure that field inspectors and technicians perform the testing, inspections, and associated documentation and computations in accordance with applicable building codes, standards of practice, Wallace Group’s Quality System, and Project Quality Assurance requirements.
• Provide initial review and approval of Daily Field Reports (DFR’s) for technical and editorial accuracy.
• Manage multi-disciplinary field situations independently and work collaboratively to resolve conflicts, discrepancies, and deficiencies.
• Assist CSM in overseeing projects, field staff.
• Construction site on-boarding and monitoring orientation requirements for any technical field staff.
• Attendance at various project meetings – e.g. preconstruction, bi-weekly QA/QC, issue resolution, etc.
• Logging, maintenance, and resolution of ACC Builds Issues.
• Manage and disseminate construction documentation to technical staff.
• Provide supplemental special inspection services within technical areas of expertise and certification.
• Daily interactions and collaboration with on-site client representatives and construction team.

SKILLS REQUIRED

• Minimum 5-years’ experience providing special inspection services and an understanding of testing firm’s role in quality assurance/quality control and project delivery.
• Ability to problem-solve technical and personnel issues in a manner consistent with company policies.
• Demonstrated skills in task/project management.
• The ability to create a good impression on others by commanding attention, respect, showing confidence, with both subcontractors and clients.
• Behavior flexibility and sensitivity when dealing with others and serving client needs.

Pay: $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
