Construction Manager Jobs in Philadelphia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a construction manager job in Philadelphia?
Focus your search on Philadelphia's most active hiring sectors: healthcare campus expansion, higher education facilities, and large-scale mixed-use development in neighborhoods like Fishtown, Kensington, and the Navy Yard. General contractors, construction management firms, and SEPTA-affiliated infrastructure projects are consistent sources of openings. Candidates with local subcontractor networks, experience navigating Philadelphia's permit and inspection processes, and PMP or CCM credentials tend to stand out in this market.
Which companies hire construction managers in Philadelphia?
Employers hiring construction managers in Philadelphia right now include Turner & Townsend Pty Limited, Jobot, and Parsons, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Philadelphia's market includes a strong mix of regional general contractors, national construction management firms with local offices, healthcare systems managing their own capital projects, and city and transit agencies overseeing public infrastructure work.
Are there remote construction manager jobs in Philadelphia?
Yes, though remote work is limited by nature for this role, since most positions require regular site presence. About 38% of construction manager openings tied to Philadelphia are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those arrangements tend to apply to preconstruction planning, estimating, and owner-side program management roles rather than active field supervision.
How can I get a construction manager job in Philadelphia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Philadelphia is through an assistant project manager or field engineer role with a regional general contractor or a large healthcare or university owner. Firms managing ongoing construction at Jefferson Health, Penn Medicine, or Temple University campuses regularly bring on junior staff. A degree in construction management or civil engineering, familiarity with Procore, and any internship on a Philadelphia job site all strengthen your candidacy meaningfully.
Which industries hire the most construction managers in Philadelphia?
Philadelphia construction manager roles concentrate in Staffing & Recruiting, Construction & Real Estate, and Consulting & Professional Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Philadelphia's sustained healthcare campus investment, major university capital programs, and a multi-year pipeline of mixed-use and transit-oriented development projects are the primary drivers of consistent local demand.
