How do you become a consulting analyst in South Dakota?
Most consulting analyst roles in South Dakota require a bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or a related discipline. The field carries no state-issued license specific to South Dakota, so employers focus on education, relevant internships, and demonstrated analytical skills. Pursuing a certification such as the Certified Management Consultant designation or completing a data analytics credential strengthens applications, particularly for roles in Sioux Falls financial services firms or state government consulting offices.
How much do consulting analysts make in South Dakota?
Consulting analysts in South Dakota earn a median of about $83,620 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $59,070 for the lowest 10% to over $147,210 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire consulting analysts in South Dakota?
South Dakota consulting analyst roles are posted by Johnson Brothers, Fidelity Investments, and Bayer and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. South Dakota's concentration of financial services headquarters in Sioux Falls and large healthcare systems like Sanford Health means that those two sectors consistently account for a substantial share of openings statewide.
Which South Dakota cities have the most consulting analyst jobs?
Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Pierre are the South Dakota cities with the most consulting analyst openings. Sioux Falls drives the largest share of demand because it is home to major financial institutions, insurance companies, and the regional headquarters of several national firms, while Rapid City attracts openings tied to healthcare administration and government-adjacent consulting, and Pierre generates steady volume through state agency and policy consulting work.
Are there remote consulting analyst jobs in South Dakota?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 30% of consulting analyst openings tied to South Dakota are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the desk-based and analytical nature of the work. Research, modeling, and report-writing responsibilities are the portions most commonly performed remotely, while client-facing presentations and stakeholder workshops are more likely to require in-person attendance.
How can I get hired as a consulting analyst in South Dakota with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to analyst associate or junior analyst roles at Sioux Falls-based financial services firms and healthcare organizations, which regularly bring on new graduates for rotational or project-support positions. Sanford Health and the South Dakota Bureau of Information and Telecommunications both hire entry-level analysts. A portfolio of case studies, coursework in data analysis, or an internship with a South Dakota state agency gives candidates a concrete edge over those without prior professional experience.
