COO Jobs in Raleigh: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a coo job in Raleigh?
Raleigh's strongest hiring for coos comes from technology companies, life sciences firms, and growth-stage startups clustered in Research Triangle Park and the North Hills corridor. Candidates who stand out have P&L ownership experience and a record of scaling operations in fast-moving companies. Networking through local groups like CED and the Greater Raleigh Chamber puts you in front of decision-makers before roles are posted publicly.
Which companies hire coos in Raleigh?
Employers hiring coos in Raleigh right now include First Citizens Bank, Duke Health, and PerkinElmer, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Raleigh's mix of established enterprise tech companies, regional healthcare systems, and venture-backed startups means coo openings appear across a wide range of organization sizes and growth stages.
Are there remote coo jobs in Raleigh?
Yes, though fully remote coo roles are less common than in purely analytical functions given the hands-on operational leadership the role requires. About 86% of coo openings tied to Raleigh are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, with hybrid arrangements most prevalent among software and SaaS companies headquartered in the Research Triangle area. Strategic and oversight responsibilities tend to carry the most schedule flexibility locally.
How can I get a coo job in Raleigh with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Raleigh is moving into a director of operations or VP of operations role at a growth-stage startup, where the distance between senior manager and executive is shorter than at larger firms. Research Triangle Park companies and Raleigh-area technology startups regularly promote strong operators internally. Building visibility through Raleigh's startup ecosystem, including programs tied to CED and local accelerators, accelerates that progression.
