Entry Level CPA Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level cpa job?
Start by targeting roles that explicitly welcome new graduates or candidates with under two years of experience. Highlight internships, relevant coursework, and any exposure to tax preparation, auditing, or financial reporting software. Passing one or more sections of the CPA exam before you're fully licensed signals commitment and gives you a concrete edge over other entry level candidates.
Which companies hire entry level cpas?
Companies hiring entry level cpas right now include Paychex and ADP, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a wide range of employers, including public accounting firms, corporate finance departments, and government agencies that regularly bring on junior staff each recruiting cycle.
Are there remote entry level cpa jobs?
Yes, though most entry level roles still favor in-person or hybrid arrangements so new hires can get direct mentorship. About 33% of entry level cpa openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, so candidates willing to work on-site will find a broader pool of opportunities at this stage.
Are these new grad cpa jobs?
Yes. The listings here include new grad, recent graduate, and junior cpa roles. A posting is new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, counts internships or part-time accounting work toward the requirement, or accepts a portfolio of relevant academic projects in place of full-time history. Look for language like 'entry level,' 'junior,' or 'new graduate welcome' in the job description.
Which industries hire the most entry level cpas?
Entry Level cpa roles concentrate in Accounting & Auditing and Technology & Software, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. These sectors drive hiring at this level because they maintain large finance and compliance teams that depend on a steady pipeline of junior accountants to handle foundational audit, tax, and reporting work.
