Position Summary
The Bruni Group/Northwestern Mutual – Morgantown is seeking a detail-oriented junior or senior pursuing a degree in Finance or Accounting to support financial advisors with the preparation and maintenance of client financial plans. This position is primarily responsible for entering, updating, and validating client data within financial planning systems to ensure plans are accurate, complete, and ready for advisor review. The candidate must be comfortable working with several team members during the client service cycle.
This role is intended for students interested in exploring a career in financial services and who are willing to pursue insurance and securities licensing.
Responsibilities
- Enter client financial information into financial planning software and internal systems.
- Update existing financial plans based on advisor-provided information.
- Review data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Identify and resolve missing or inaccurate information.
- Maintain organized client records and documentation.
- Generate basic reports and planning materials as requested.
- Support advisors with administrative tasks related to financial plan preparation.
Qualifications
- Current junior or senior pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related business field.
- Ability to handle confidential client information professionally.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Comfortable working data and performing data entry tasks.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Reliable, dependable, and able to work independently.
- Willingness to pursue insurance and securities licensing as part of a potential career path in financial services.
- Candidate will be fingerprinted and bonded as within regulations of the industry.
Preferred Qualifications

- 15 hours per week, flexible. $15/hour
This position is based in Northwestern Mutual's Morgantown office and requires on-site attendance throughout the internship. Successful candidates should have an interest in exploring a long-term career in financial services, including obtaining applicable insurance and securities licenses.
