Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Able to commit to working for 12 weeks during in 2027
- Currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
- Strong track record of research in one or more areas of computer vision, computer graphics and machine learning, preferring candidates with publications in some conference such as SIGGRAPH/SIGGRAPH Asia, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, ICML, NeurIPS, ICLR.
- Highly competent in algorithms and programming.
- Work and collaborate well with team members.
- Ability to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated software engineering experience from previous internship, work experience, coding competitions, or publications.
- High levels of creativity and quick problem-solving capabilities.

【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (Hourly) - Campus Intern
The hourly rate range for this position in the selected city is $60 - $60. Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Interns have day one access to health insurance, life insurance, wellbeing benefits and more. Interns also receive 10 paid holidays per year and paid sick time (56 hours if hired in first half of year, 40 if hired in second half of year). Can I do CPT at a university research lab outside my own school?
Yes. CPT doesn't require the employer to be your own institution. A Research Technician position at a different university, a federal research center, or a private biotech lab all qualify as long as your DSO confirms the work ties to your curriculum. Your I-20 is still issued by your school, and the authorization must be in place before your first day.

Your CPT is tied to a specific employer and end date on your I-20. If the project ends before your authorized period expires, you should notify your DSO promptly. Working beyond the project's scope without updated authorization puts your F-1 status at risk. Your DSO can amend your I-20 if you move to a new lab or project under the same employer.
Does using full-time CPT for a Research Technician role affect my OPT eligibility?
Full-time CPT used for 12 months or more eliminates your OPT eligibility entirely. Part-time CPT, defined by USCIS as under 20 hours per week, does not count against OPT regardless of how long you use it. If your Research Technician position is full-time, track your total CPT months carefully before committing to a long placement.
