Data Analytics Engineer Jobs in Missouri: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a data analytics engineer in Missouri?
There is no state-issued license or registration required to work as a data analytics engineer in Missouri. Most employers hire candidates who hold a bachelor's degree in computer science, data engineering, or a related field, combined with demonstrated skills in SQL, Python, and cloud data tools. Industry certifications from AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud are widely recognized by Missouri employers and can substitute for gaps in formal education.
How much do data analytics engineers make in Missouri?
Data analytics engineers in Missouri earn a median of about $97,090 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $58,960 for the lowest 10% to over $151,380 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire data analytics engineers in Missouri?
Companies currently hiring data analytics engineers in Missouri include JBS INTERNATIONAL, SS&C, and Bunge, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Missouri's concentration of financial services firms, large health systems, and manufacturing headquarters means demand is distributed across several sectors rather than dominated by a single industry.
Which Missouri cities have the most data analytics engineer jobs?
Kansas City, St. Louis, and Missouri have the most data analytics engineer openings in Missouri. Kansas City leads because of its dense cluster of financial services, logistics, and healthcare employers, while St. Louis draws significant demand from its Fortune 500 headquarters and major academic medical centers, and smaller cities appear on the list when large regional employers or university health systems are actively recruiting.
Are there remote data analytics engineer jobs in Missouri?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 50% of data analytics engineer openings tied to Missouri are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how naturally the work translates to distributed settings. Pipeline development, dashboard maintenance, and cloud infrastructure work are the sub-areas most frequently offered with full or partial remote arrangements.
How can I get hired as a data analytics engineer in Missouri with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving from a closely adjacent role such as data analyst, business intelligence analyst, or database administrator, where Missouri employers like Cerner (Oracle Health), Mastercard's Kansas City operations, and major health systems regularly promote from within. Building a public portfolio of pipeline or transformation projects on GitHub, earning a cloud certification, and targeting junior or associate data engineer titles at Missouri-based financial services firms or state government agencies gives candidates without direct experience a concrete foothold.
Where can I find and apply to data analytics engineer jobs in Missouri?
You can find and apply to data analytics engineer jobs in Missouri on Migrate Mate, which lists current Missouri openings. Search the roles available, find the ones that match your background and location, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
