INTRODUCTION
World Wide Technology, Inc. has an opportunity available for a Consulting System Engineer to support our Tribal Nations and USPS account, specifically Native American Tribes. Our team member will be focused on technical Presales Consulting to include customer presentations, development of Statements of Work, project hour estimation, respond to RFPs and generate Bills of Materials. The qualified candidate will serve as the technical lead in all covered Civilian accounts building strong relationships with the customer base as well as World Wide Technology's partners.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the senior technical liaison and trusted advisor to supported clients, positioning WWT's compute, storage, security, automation, DR, AI, and cloud solutions to address complex business and technical challenges.
- Partner closely with Client Managers and sales teams to identify customer priorities, conduct discovery sessions, and translate requirements into customized IT solutions that drive infrastructure modernization and digital transformation.
- Leverage deep expertise in compute and storage architectures—supplemented by security knowledge—to design innovative, scalable solutions incorporating modern IT capabilities such as automation, AI/ML, hybrid/multi-cloud environments, and data center optimization.
- Prepare and deliver high-impact customer presentations, technical demonstrations, proof-of-concepts (POCs), whiteboard sessions, and solution proposals that clearly articulate business value and ROI.
- Develop Statements of Work (SOWs), project hour estimations, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and responses to RFPs/RFIs while collaborating with internal resources, partners, and OEMs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in Tribal Nations, WWT partners, and technology vendors to foster long-term collaboration and account growth.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent communication, presentation, and consultative selling skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts and business value to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Deep expertise in Compute and Storage architectures (on-premises, converged/hyperconverged, and hybrid cloud), including design, optimization, and modernization of enterprise infrastructure.
- Solid working knowledge of Security solutions (e.g., data protection, zero-trust, encryption, compliance frameworks) with the ability to integrate security into broader infrastructure recommendations.
- Strong familiarity with modern IT practices, including automation (Ansible, Terraform, Python, etc.), AI/ML infrastructure, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and data center transformation initiatives.
- Ability to build trusted advisor relationships with technical and executive stakeholders, particularly within Native American Tribal Nations and related organizations.
- Must be a self-starter with strong business acumen, solution-oriented mindset, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Willingness to travel as needed within California and occasionally beyond to support client engagements.
COMPENSATION
A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $150,000.00 to $175,000.00 annually. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base pay.
