Executive Management Jobs in California: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a executive management in California?
Most executive management roles in California require a bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related discipline, with many employers preferring an MBA for senior positions. California does not issue a state license for general executive management, but roles in regulated sectors such as healthcare or financial services may require industry-specific credentials or registrations. Building experience through operations, finance, or strategy roles at California companies is the most common path upward.
How much do executive managements make in California?
Executive managements in California earn a median of about $218,600 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $85,790 for the lowest 10% to over $486,830 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire executive managements in California?
Employers hiring executive managements in California right now include BD, GHD, and Visa, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. California's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, major tech firms, and large healthcare systems means executive management demand stays consistently high across the state.
Which California cities have the most executive management jobs?
San Diego, San Francisco, and West Hollywood have the most executive management openings in California. The distribution reflects where corporate headquarters and major regional operations are concentrated, with the San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles driving the bulk of postings due to their density of tech firms, financial institutions, and entertainment conglomerates, while San Jose anchors Silicon Valley's deep bench of technology companies.
Are there remote executive management jobs in California?
Yes, though they are less common than in purely analytical or technical fields, since many executive management roles require in-person presence for leadership, site oversight, and stakeholder engagement. About 25% of executive management openings tied to California are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, skewing toward hybrid arrangements rather than fully remote. Strategy, corporate development, and certain finance-focused leadership roles are most likely to offer location flexibility.
How can I get hired as a executive management in California with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a management associate or rotational leadership program, which large California employers in retail, banking, and healthcare commonly run for recent graduates. Companies such as Kaiser Permanente, Bank of America, and major California-based technology firms operate structured programs that cycle candidates through operations, finance, and strategy functions. Lateral moves from project management, business analysis, or department supervisor roles also provide a strong foundation, and an MBA from a California institution accelerates advancement into formal executive management tracks.
Where can I find and apply to executive management jobs in California?
You can find and apply to executive management jobs in California on Migrate Mate, which lists current California openings across industries and experience levels. Search the listings to find roles that match your background and apply directly to the ones that fit.
