Executive Management Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a executive management in Texas?
The path to executive management in Texas typically begins with a bachelor's degree in business, finance, engineering, or a related field, followed by progressive leadership experience within a specific industry. Texas does not require a state-issued license for most executive management roles, but an MBA from a Texas institution such as UT Austin McCombs, Rice Jones, or SMU Cox can accelerate advancement. Building a record in operations, finance, or strategic planning before moving into general management is the most common route in Texas.
How much do executive managements make in Texas?
Executive managements in Texas earn a median of about $257,850 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $121,130 for the lowest 10% to over $558,550 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire executive managements in Texas?
Employers hiring executive managements in Texas right now include Amazon, Walmart, and IDEA Public Schools, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of energy, technology, and healthcare headquarters means executive management openings regularly appear at large regional and national organizations with deep roots in the state.
Which Texas cities have the most executive management jobs?
Austin, Dallas, and Houston have the most executive management openings in Texas, reflecting the concentration of corporate headquarters and major industry employers in each metro. Houston's energy sector, Dallas's financial and telecom giants, and Austin's fast-growing technology companies each drive sustained leadership demand, while Fort Worth's logistics and manufacturing base adds consistent openings in its own right.
Are there remote executive management jobs in Texas?
Yes, though they are less common than in purely analytical or technical roles, since many executive management positions involve direct team oversight and in-person stakeholder engagement. About 32% of executive management openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with the remote share concentrated in roles focused on strategy, business development, and corporate-level oversight rather than day-to-day operational management.
How can I get hired as a executive management in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is securing an associate or junior manager role within a large Texas employer and building toward executive responsibility from within. Companies such as HEB, Oncor, and major Houston-area energy firms run formal management development and rotational leadership programs designed for early-career candidates. Moving into executive management from adjacent roles in project management, business analysis, or department supervision is common, and an MBA or relevant certification from a Texas business school strengthens a candidate's case considerably.
Where can I find and apply to executive management jobs in Texas?
