DESCRIPTION
Prime Video is changing the way customers watch movies, TV shows, live events, and channels—offering unparalleled choice and convenience across devices such as Fire TV, mobile phones, game consoles, and connected TVs. We deliver world-class viewing experiences to customers in over 240 countries and territories.
The Prime Video Product Analytics (PVPA) team is a centralized analytics organization supporting the Prime Video Product organization. We bring together Business Intelligence Engineers, Data Engineers, and Data Scientists to deliver comprehensive data tools and insights that drive product decisions and enhance customer experience. Our work spans the full analytics lifecycle—from data infrastructure and pipeline development to advanced analytics, customer insights modeling, AI-driven solutions, and self-service reporting.
This role sits within the PVPA team focused on out-of-app engagement and full-funnel customer journey analytics. Our mission is to understand and optimize how customers discover, engage with, and return to Prime Video—connecting off-app marketing touchpoints (such as email, push, a.com, WhatsApp, search engines, and paid media) with in-app behavior and engagement to build a complete, end-to-end view of the customer experience. We harness data across this full funnel—from acquisition and onboarding through long-term retention—to inform personalization, measure customer engagement and channel effectiveness, and deliver the right content to the right customer at the right time.

-
Build and enhance the AI tooling and analytics products to enable self-serve and improved efficiency.
-
Partner with engineering and dependency teams to define data contracts, ensure upstream data reliability, and proactively manage communication and change coordination for data schema updates.
-
Collaborate with Business Intelligence Engineers and Data Scientists to deliver clean, structured data for dashboards, reporting, experimentation, full-funnel attribution, and ML use cases.
-
Monitor pipeline health, resolve job and cluster issues, and improve automation, testing, and observability to increase system resilience.
-
Champion data engineering best practices across the team—including documentation, version control, peer reviews, and operational excellence.

Data Engineer Jobs in Seattle: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a data engineer job in Seattle?
The strongest path into a Seattle data engineer role is targeting the city's dominant sectors: cloud infrastructure, e-commerce platforms, and health tech. Jobs concentrate in South Lake Union, the Eastside corridor, and Bellevue. Candidates who stand out here typically show hands-on experience with large-scale pipeline work, cloud-native tools such as Spark or Databricks, and familiarity with the distributed systems architecture common among Seattle's major tech employers.
Which companies hire data engineers in Seattle?
Employers hiring data engineers in Seattle right now include Amazon, Amazon Web Services, and TikTok, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Seattle's hiring mix leans heavily toward established tech companies and fast-growing cloud and health-tech firms, alongside a smaller but active layer of fintech startups and retail analytics teams.
Are there remote data engineer jobs in Seattle?
Yes, data engineering is one of the more remote-compatible technical roles given its analytical and code-driven nature. About 39% of data engineer openings tied to Seattle are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how broadly Seattle employers have adopted flexible arrangements. Pipeline design, transformation logic, and cloud infrastructure work tend to be the most remote-friendly tasks within these roles.
How can I get a data engineer job in Seattle with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Seattle is moving into a junior or associate data engineering role through a related analytics or data science position. Seattle's health tech companies and mid-size cloud startups in South Lake Union regularly hire entry-level engineers willing to work on data quality and pipeline tooling. Building a portfolio with public datasets, contributing to open-source data tools, and getting comfortable with SQL and Python gives candidates a concrete edge in local interviews.
Which industries hire the most data engineers in Seattle?
The sectors hiring the most data engineers in Seattle are Technology & Software, Retail, and E-Commerce & Online Marketplaces, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026.
