Credit Analyst Jobs in Washington: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a credit analyst in Washington?
Most credit analyst roles in Washington require a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or economics, and Washington does not issue a state-specific license for the role itself. Employers typically look for candidates who have completed formal credit training through programs like the Risk Management Association's credit courses. Building familiarity with the Washington Department of Financial Institutions' regulatory environment and gaining experience through banking internships or junior analyst roles strengthens a candidate's profile significantly.
How much do credit analysts make in Washington?
Credit analysts in Washington earn a median of about $91,160 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $59,800 for the lowest 10% to over $151,970 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire credit analysts in Washington?
Employers hiring credit analysts in Washington right now include RiverBank, WaFd Bank, and Seattle Bank, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Washington's dense network of community banks, credit unions, and regional commercial lenders generates consistent year-round demand for credit analysis professionals across the state.
Which Washington cities have the most credit analyst jobs?
Seattle, Spokane, and Bremerton have the most credit analyst openings in Washington. Seattle and Bellevue drive the largest share of postings given their concentration of regional bank headquarters, commercial real estate firms, and corporate treasury operations, while Spokane supports a steady volume of openings tied to its community banking and agricultural lending sectors.
Are there remote credit analyst jobs in Washington?
Yes, and more than many financial roles. About 50% of credit analyst openings tied to Washington are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the desk-based and analytical nature of the work. Portfolio review, financial spreading, and loan write-up tasks are the functions most commonly performed remotely, while client-facing underwriting and relationship management roles tend to remain on-site.
How can I get hired as a credit analyst in Washington with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for a credit analyst associate or junior underwriter role at one of Washington's community banks or credit unions, which often run structured training programs for new graduates. Institutions such as Washington Federal and Banner Bank have historically onboarded candidates from finance and accounting programs at the University of Washington and Washington State University. Coming in from a bank teller, loan processor, or financial analyst assistant role is a common lateral move. Completing an RMA credit course or earning progress toward the CFA gives candidates a measurable edge over other applicants.
Where can I find and apply to credit analyst jobs in Washington?
You can find and apply to credit analyst jobs in Washington on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers across the state. Search the available roles, find the ones that match your experience and target location, and apply directly to the positions that fit.
