Rx Savings Solutions (RxSS), part of CoverMyMeds, helps members, employers, and health plans reduce medication costs, improve adherence, and navigate care. With access to more than 19M lives across both Medicare and Commercial plans, our platform helps patients navigate their benefit, identifies savings opportunities and connects patients to more affordable medication options. Starting with the patient, RxSS makes the medication journey more understandable so that prescriptions are accessible and affordable.
As we expand beyond our core savings engine into the areas of market access, managed care and outcomes, we need a Clinical Pharmacist embedded within our Product organization to serve as the authoritative clinical voice across the product lifecycle. This Clinical Intelligence, Product Strategy role will bring deep pharmacy expertise to new product development, ensuring our solutions are grounded in sound clinical practice, drug utilization appropriateness, and patient safety principles.
This role serves as the primary clinical voice within the Product organization, applying pharmacy, managed care and market access expertise to evaluate new product concepts, inform clinical content decisions, and ensure that what we build meets the highest standards of drug utilization appropriateness, patient safety, and clinical integrity. You'll collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Commercial, Legal, and Privacy teams to bring clinical rigor to product decisions, reduce clinical risk, and ensure that member-facing capabilities reflect current pharmacy practice standards. This is a senior individual contributor role reporting to the VP of Product with no direct reports, purposed with driving outcomes through expertise, strategic framing, and cross-functional influence.
What You'll Do:
Lead with Purpose & Humility – Influence Without Authority
- Drive alignment across teams through data, strategic framing, and relationship-building
- Navigate ambiguity and competing stakeholder interests with confidence
- Contribute to the evolution of the RxSS Product Delivery Framework for clinical workstreams
- Seek input from diverse perspectives across the organization
Bring Clinical Depth and Strategy Experience to New Product Development
- Develop clinical strategies that advance patient outcomes in response to market shifts that impact health benefits coverage, managed care and market access relationships between Payer and Biopharma companies
- Serve as the resident clinical pharmacist resource for the product team, providing guidance on drug utilization, formulary design, therapeutic alternatives, and medication access considerations as they relate to new and existing product capabilities
- Review new product concepts and features for clinical appropriateness, patient safety risk, and alignment with pharmacy practice standards, managed care and market access strategies; document clinical rationale for product decisions
- Apply clinical expertise to inform savings logic, clinical content, member-facing messaging, and therapeutic substitution recommendations embedded in the RxSS platform
- Monitor evolving clinical guidelines, drug utilization trends, and regulatory changes that may affect product strategy, and translate these into actionable insights and strategic direction for the product roadmap
Build Teams of Tomorrow – Organizational Capability Building
- Establish scalable processes, templates, and playbooks for clinical review work
- Document clinical review patterns, decision frameworks, and drug utilization learnings
- Share industry trends, competitive intelligence, and best practices with the product organization
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited college of pharmacy and active PharmD required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Product Management, Healthcare Administration, or related field, or equivalent, and typically requires 7+ years of relative experience in product management, product strategy, or clinical pharmacy within healthcare technology, pharmacy benefits, or SaaS
- Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional initiatives with measurable outcomes
- Demonstrated ability to translate clinical knowledge into product decisions, including patient safety review, clinical content development, and drug utilization guidance
- Deep understanding of the pharmacy benefit landscape, drug utilization management, formulary design, and clinical pharmacy practice
- Experience building prioritization and evaluation frameworks
PREFERRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
- Strong executive communication and influence skills
- Self-directed execution and comfort navigating ambiguity
- Experience with pharmacy savings, medication access, or care-navigation products
- Familiarity with agile product development environments and SAFe principles
- Experience within the McKesson or CoverMyMeds ecosystem
- Proficiency using AI tools to enhance productivity and decision-making
