Entry Level Database Architect Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level database architect job?
Entry level database architect roles favor candidates who can demonstrate hands-on work, even if it comes from coursework, personal projects, or internships rather than full-time experience. Employers at this level look for familiarity with SQL, a major database platform such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle, and basic data modeling skills. A portfolio that shows you can design and query a schema gives you a real edge over candidates who only list coursework on a resume.
Which companies hire entry level database architects?
Companies hiring entry level database architects right now include Cvent, Google, and Amazon Web Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a range of employers, including large enterprises building out data infrastructure and mid-size technology companies that need junior database talent to support growing product teams.
Are there remote entry level database architect jobs?
Yes, though availability varies by employer and role type. About 13% of entry level database architect openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, so location-flexible options do exist at this stage. On-site roles are still common, particularly at companies where database work is tied closely to internal infrastructure or regulated data environments that require in-person access.
Are these new grad database architect jobs?
Yes, the listings here include new grad, recent graduate, and junior database architect roles. A posting is typically new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts internship or academic project work in place of full-time history, or explicitly invites candidates with a strong portfolio. If you graduated recently or are switching into data from another field, these are the roles to target.
Which industries hire the most entry level database architects?
Entry level database architect roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Consulting & Professional Services, and Healthcare & Medical Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Those sectors tend to drive hiring at this level because they manage large volumes of structured data, build internal platforms that require ongoing schema design, and often have junior-friendly teams with the mentorship capacity to bring new talent up to speed.
