Why Dermatology for Animals?
Founded in 1991 by a board-certified veterinary dermatologist, D4A has grown organically by hiring and training dermatologists through our highly respected residency program. Entry Level Dermatologist Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level dermatologist job?
Complete a dermatology residency and obtain board certification or eligibility, as most entry level positions require both. Highlight clinical rotations, procedural experience with conditions like acne, psoriasis, or skin cancer screenings, and any fellowship exposure. Strong letters of recommendation from attending physicians carry real weight at this stage, and applying to practice groups that explicitly welcome new graduates improves your chances considerably.
Which companies hire entry level dermatologists?
Companies hiring entry level dermatologists right now include Optum, Mayo Clinic, and PeaceHealth, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. At this level, hiring tends to come from private dermatology group practices, hospital-affiliated outpatient clinics, and multi-specialty health systems that have structured onboarding for physicians new to independent practice.
Are there remote entry level dermatologist jobs?
Yes, though clinical dermatology roles are predominantly in-person given the hands-on nature of skin examinations and procedures. About 2% of entry level dermatologist openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions typically involve teledermatology consultations, image-based diagnosis review, or administrative and research roles within dermatology practices.
Are these new grad dermatologist jobs?
Yes, many of these listings are new grad dermatologist roles and explicitly welcome recent graduates, junior physicians, and candidates completing or just finishing residency. A new-grad-friendly posting typically lists zero to two years of post-training experience as acceptable, values residency and fellowship work as qualifying experience, and includes mentorship or supervised practice during an initial onboarding period.
Which industries hire the most entry level dermatologists?
Entry Level dermatologist roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Science & Research, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Those sectors drive hiring at this level because they have the patient volume and administrative infrastructure to onboard new physicians, provide malpractice coverage, and support the supervised ramp-up period that early-career dermatologists typically need.
