Entry Level Gastroenterology Nurse Practitioner Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level gastroenterology nurse practitioner job?
Employers hiring at the entry level in gastroenterology typically look for NP licensure, a completed clinical rotation in GI or internal medicine, and familiarity with endoscopy workflows or chronic GI condition management. Candidates who can show hands-on experience with procedures like colonoscopy prep counseling or IBD patient education stand out. A cover letter that addresses your GI-specific clinical hours directly will strengthen any application at this stage.
Which companies hire entry level gastroenterology nurse practitioners?
Companies hiring entry level gastroenterology nurse practitioners right now include CommonSpirit Health, Riverside Health, and Carle Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a mix of dedicated GI specialty practices, hospital-employed gastroenterology departments, and multi-specialty outpatient groups that are willing to bring on new graduates alongside experienced staff.
Are there remote entry level gastroenterology nurse practitioner jobs?
Yes, though most gastroenterology NP roles are procedure-focused and require in-person patient care. About 3% of entry level gastroenterology nurse practitioner openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those tend to be telehealth follow-up roles, chronic disease management positions, or pre-procedure consultation posts rather than hands-on procedural work.
Are these new grad gastroenterology nurse practitioner jobs?
Yes, the listings on this page include new grad, recent graduate, and junior gastroenterology nurse practitioner roles. A posting is new-grad friendly when it explicitly welcomes zero to two years of post-licensure experience, counts clinical rotations toward the experience requirement, or values a portfolio of GI patient cases over a long employment history. Searching for the phrase 'new grad NP' alongside the specialty can surface additional openings.
Which industries hire the most entry level gastroenterology nurse practitioners?
Entry Level gastroenterology nurse practitioner roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Science & Research, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive entry level hiring because GI patient volume is high, demand for NPs to extend physician capacity in endoscopy units and outpatient clinics is growing, and many practices are structured to onboard new graduates with mentorship from attending gastroenterologists.
