Design Manager Jobs in Jacksonville: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a design manager job in Jacksonville?
Focus on Jacksonville's strongest hiring sectors: healthcare systems, regional financial institutions, and the city's growing technology and defense contracting presence. Roles tend to cluster in Riverside, Downtown, and the Southside business corridor. Candidates who can show cross-functional leadership, a portfolio demonstrating business impact, and familiarity with product or UX design workflows stand out in this market over those with purely technical backgrounds.
Which companies hire design managers in Jacksonville?
Companies currently hiring design managers in Jacksonville include Industrial Electric Manufacturing, CBI, and Jacobs, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Jacksonville's employer mix skews toward large regional healthcare networks, financial services firms, and mid-size technology companies with product and digital design teams.
Are there remote design manager jobs in Jacksonville?
Yes, though availability depends on the role type. About 32% of design manager openings tied to Jacksonville are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting broader industry flexibility for design leadership work. Roles tied to in-person creative teams or on-site product studios in Jacksonville tend to require at least a hybrid schedule.
How can I get a design manager job in Jacksonville with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Jacksonville is moving up from a senior individual-contributor design role, such as a senior UX designer or senior graphic designer, within a local healthcare system or financial services firm that promotes from within. Jacksonville employers often value portfolio quality and cross-team collaboration experience over a formal management title, so leading a project team or mentoring junior designers internally is a recognized stepping stone.
Which industries hire the most design managers in Jacksonville?
Jacksonville design manager roles concentrate in Manufacturing, Energy, and Construction & Real Estate, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Jacksonville's position as a major healthcare hub and one of the largest banking and insurance centers in the Southeast makes those sectors consistent drivers of local design leadership hiring.
