Design Manager Jobs in Atlanta: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a design manager job in Atlanta?
Atlanta's strongest hiring comes from its technology corridor in Midtown, retail and consumer brands headquartered in Buckhead, and the growing film and media industry anchored around Peachtree Street. Candidates who combine cross-functional leadership experience with a portfolio showing systems-level design work stand out here. Targeting companies with in-house creative or digital product teams, rather than pure agencies, tends to open more management-track openings in Atlanta's current market.
Which companies hire design managers in Atlanta?
Employers hiring design managers in Atlanta right now include Amazon, Deloitte, and Accenture, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Atlanta's mix of Fortune 500 headquarters, fast-growing fintech firms, and major retail brands means design manager roles appear across a wide range of employer sizes and industries.
Are there remote design manager jobs in Atlanta?
Yes, though design manager roles that involve leading in-person studio teams or overseeing physical product development tend to require on-site presence. About 29% of design manager openings tied to Atlanta are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with remote arrangements most common for digital product design and UX leadership roles at Atlanta-based tech and software companies.
How can I get a design manager job in Atlanta with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Atlanta is stepping into a senior individual contributor role at a mid-size tech or retail brand, then building toward a management title within one to two years. Atlanta employers in digital commerce and media often promote from within, so targeting companies with growing design teams increases your odds. Building a portfolio that demonstrates cross-team collaboration and design system ownership, and engaging with the Atlanta design community through local events, accelerates that transition.
Which industries hire the most design managers in Atlanta?
Most design manager openings in Atlanta sit in Consulting & Professional Services, Technology & Software, and Construction & Real Estate, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Atlanta's role as a hub for retail headquarters, financial technology, and media production drives consistent demand for design leadership across those sectors.
