The Opportunity
We are seeking a Membership & Community Engagement Manager who thrives on building relationships, connecting with people, and helping local businesses succeed.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being out in the community, creating meaningful connections, supporting members, and ensuring they experience the full value of Chamber membership.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter, strong communicator, and team player who enjoys both relationship-building and executing member-facing communications such as newsletters, social media, and event promotions.
Key Responsibilities
Member Engagement & Retention
· Build and maintain strong relationships with Chamber members
· Conduct regular member check-ins by phone, email, and in person
· Support membership recruitment, renewals, and retention efforts
· Follow up on past-due invoices and outstanding balances in a professional and service-oriented manner
· Connect members to Chamber benefits, sponsorships, and networking opportunities that align with their goals
· Welcome and onboard new members to ensure early engagement and long-term retention
Member Visibility & Communications
· Assist with the Chamber’s weekly newsletter, ensuring member highlights, event updates, and sponsorship recognition are included
· Create and schedule social media content that promotes members, events, ribbon cuttings, and Chamber initiatives
· Develop member spotlights, new member welcomes, and event recap posts
· Help ensure sponsors and partners receive strong visibility and recognition across Chamber channels
Events & Community Presence
· Support the planning and execution of Chamber events, including networking programs, ribbon cuttings, educational sessions, and special initiatives
· Represent the Chamber professionally at events and within the community
· Build relationships with local businesses, partners, and prospective members through consistent outreach
Administrative & Membership Systems
· Maintain accurate member records and notes in the Chamber database
· Track renewals, sponsorships, event registrations, and outreach touchpoints
· Assist with reporting and general Chamber office operations as needed
SKILLS & ABILITIES
· Outgoing, personable, and energized by connecting with people
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Highly organized with strong follow-through
· Comfortable making outreach calls, asking for renewals, and collecting past-due balances
· Self-motivated and able to manage multiple priorities
· Strong team player who enjoys supporting others
· Experience with membership organizations, customer service, sales, hospitality, events, or community engagement is a plus
· Experience with Photoshop, Canva, Constant Contact, social media, or CRM/database systems is helpful but can be learned
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
· Experience with a membership organization preferred.
· Experience with CRM software and sales pipelines.
· Event planning and execution experience.
· Bachelor’s degree (preferred, but not required) in related field of Hospitality, Marketing, Communications, or a business-related field.
